TurboTax Makes Filing Your Taxes Fast and Easy

I was annoyed this year to pay substantially more to get Schedule D...the last year I needed Schedule D! Even with the $25 rebate, which was a nice gesture on TurboTax's part, I was still annoyed. But since I used TurboTax last year with great success, I did not want to re-learn another software program. I'll read the software box carefully next year. If necessary, I'll buy another program. Bottom line, though, TurboTax is fast, easy, and reassuring that my taxes were done right.
What's great about it: Program asks a lot of questions, does the math for me
What's not so great: It's not easy to ask "why" when using this program.I think I ommited information that would have increased my refund.

A bit confusing

This is the first time I decided to bite the bullet and spend money for doing taxes. This is the first year that I had capitol gains and stock sales. IRS language was just a little to much for me to handle so enter Turbo Tax. It was much easier then I anticipated. My only complaint was in entering zeros or leaving boxes blank when entering information. I found that leaving boxes blank was correct for everything except entering information for a typed 1099-R. That form came up as an error unless I entered 0.00 in a box.
What's great about it: Capitol gains and 1009-B info so much easier than trying to read and interpret IRS lingo
What's not so great: Entering zeros or leaving boxes blank. 1099-R needed zeros couldn't be left blank

It is user friendly and liked the capability of downloading information from investment institutions. Saved time from manually inputting sales.

Issue with backdoor Roth IRA filing

If you follow the standard TurboTax instructions, you will be taxed on your backdoor Roth IRA despite not really owing any taxes. There are instructions online by other users on how you need to skip forward in the process first, put in your account information, and then go back to fill out the standard forms.
What's great about it: Eventually works
What's not so great: No straight forward method

Third Party Designee frustrating

I followed the help center comments but still couldn't get the third party designee to print on the Form1040. Also, I had VA widow insurance benefits in 2013 that were taxable and it didn't ask about whether I had any for 2014. I found on the help center that these are not taxable in 2014 but it would have been helpful to bring it up as an item from 2013 and then say it does not need to be included in 2014.
What's not so great: couldn't get third party designee to print on return; didn't ask about an income item from last year

Finished at last

Need a print button on page with form review that actually generates print. After you review forms there is no direct way to initialize forms printing. You have to go to the machine control to get it done. A pain in the lower area.
What's great about it: Generally very good.
What's not so great: Print control
