Why is it that one state is not included for e-filing? It should be.
What's great about it: Seams to be very comprensive

TurboTax makes it easy to complete my taxes even though they are moderately complex.
What's great about it: Consistent approach, consistent results
What's not so great: When reviewing within the step-by-step, redundant entry is often required

Easy data entry

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have not had a reason that I needed or wanted to change tax preparation.
What's great about it: Easy to correct data entries in most cases
What's not so great: Poor handling of multiple 1099 misc forms.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Got it done

I have been using TurboTax since 1989. I can't imagine doing it any other way. I tried using tax professionals for 2 years but found it to be just as much work to give them all the information so that they can plug it in to a program like TurboTax.
What's great about it: Takes care of all the tedious work
What's not so great: Lots of changes in the flow every year

I'll know to buy the Premium from the beginning next time if we have stock sales to report.
What's great about it: Straight forward questions gets me through it
What's not so great: none I can think of at this point

I do not like that the charitable contributions worksheet doesn't remain sorted alphabetically each time I go back to it.
What's great about it: Walk-thru steps are very easy to use.
What's not so great: Alphabetical sort of charitable contributions doesn't remain. Have to resort each time

2014 Tax Return

Even though I have been using Turbo Tax for many-many years, I am still not very clear about AMT taxes. More explanation needs to be given on this matter. In addition, I encountered the following two problems with the 2014 tax return:
1) All the donations I made in 2014 with my 2013 California tax return did not show up - 5 out 7 showed up.
2) The amortization of a morgage financing cost did not carry forward from prior years. The financing cost is being amortized for 15 years and has 2 more years to go. The system was very frustrating.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Some areas not very helpful
