Some headings for certain boxes not complete. ie. Not enough T's to complete company sent K-1's

Outstanding Help

My husband usually does the taxes but this year I wanted to do it. I found it very easy to itemize my deductions, review frequently and e file it. I'm no longer afraid of filing taxes. Thanks

Makes dealing with a K-1 painless

Dealing with taxes when a K-1 form is involved is impossible without help. Add in the AMT and it's even more hopeless. You can pay an accountant/CPA, but he or she will charge an arm and a leg and will use a software package anyway. I compared my results using TurboTax with those of an expensive CPA: no difference except for the hundreds of bucks I didn't have to pay the CPA.

TurboTax is very thorough and has gotten much better over the years (or I've become more proficient with it). Overall, I wouldn't do my taxes without it, since I have rental property income/deductions/depreciation, etc. HOWEVER, one really annoying feature is that TT doesn't remember all of your answers, so you have to re click many screens when reviewing or editing. MOST info is remembered, but you have to pay attention because it sometimes is not. TT: PLEASE FIX.
What's great about it: Walks you through step by step
What's not so great: Doesn't always remember your answers

Turbo Tax Deluxe

I searched help several times to try to fix a Smart check issue..
I was on the phone for 2 1/2 hours with 2 techs who could not identify the problem . 3rd person went right to it and problem solved. She knew it was Turbo glitch.

Turbo did not need the net gain/loss from 1099 B which I entered from broker statement. so wanted me to fix each transaction because I had put them in an adjustment column, a change and huge frustration and hours of stress. I am 75 and been using Turbo for years myself.

Challenge of "It's Deductible"

I wasted a lot of time using the on-line 'help' feature when I was trying to access last years "It's Deductible" data for easy entry of new figures. Finally, I found an 800 number on the leaflet inside of the disc box. The call back feature is very nice. I got the help I needed.
What's great about it: Using Tubro Tax Premier for all entries before and after charitable deductions was very straight forward.
What's not so great: Disappointed in my ability to access last years It's Deductible data easily without re-entering all of the charities.

JUST LOVE IT!
