Stressful hiccups

In smart review, the errors were confusingly undefined, forms were not adequately identified (multiple forms with same name). You click on a form that might be right and you are transported back to that point in the entry process and you enter or re-enter data, without knowing that you will not have to complete the entire process again. There was no explanation that all you needed to do was click on forms in the upper left of the tool bar and this would take you to the point of the "error". In my case the error was Turbotax did not put in a "0" at a spot in a form where the only value could have been "0". It was a form that I did not enter any of the values into in the process as there were no questions directly related to it.
What's great about it: Good flow, ease of entry, link with prior year's report

Although Turbo Tax is easy to use, I don't think it is that much better than other tax software that is available for less $. This year I had to purchase Turbo Tax Premier instead of Deluxe in order to get Schedule E. I probably won't purchase Turbo Tax next year because of this change.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy to use, especially because of the on-line support within Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: I have used Turbo Tax for years but this year I had to pay more for the software in order to get Schedule E.

Survived Another Year of Income Tax Preparation

Tax preparation seems to get more difficult every year. This thing is very clear with its explanations and if that isn't enough, you can drill down further for more info.
What's great about it: It guides you through the process step by step.
What's not so great: Nothing I didn't like about it.

Another easy return

Have used Turbo Tax for well over a decade now and continue to very satisfied. The program is very easy to use and covers all potential types of income and deductions in detail. Since it carries over all my info from year to year, finishing my tax return seems to get easier every year! I spend more time getting all my information lined up than I do actually using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use, carries over data from one tax year to the next

You can't easily see all the parts of your return to verify and then change them. For example, clicking on FEDERAL TAXES then Deductions & Credits you get a nice ordered list of the various components of this area. But when you click on something, it does not just show you the individual entries and allow them to be edited, it drags you through all the questions you answered before. Clicking on the amount gives you a rough overview of the entry but not detailed enough and not editable. You can go to forms view, but that's a lot uglier and subject to entry errors. Why not just take you to the individual entry and let you change it?
What's great about it: Uploading from Quicken and banks
What's not so great: Difficulty of reviewing completed return

I've been using Turbo Tax for several years….after paying an accountant an outrages fee….I realized I could do my own…
With Turbo Tax and my Financial Accountant it couldn't b easier. You just put in the package number and password and all of your financial transactions are detailed exactly where they are suppose to be…..and I didn't have to pay an accountant 15.00 a page…
