2013 Fed & State

I had to pay twice to file my 2013 returns. Paid when I filed an extension and had to pay again when I filed my returns. There was no link to my previously paid for return.
Other than that I am very happy with the process.

What's not so great: TurboTax now charges to e-file a state return PLUS the price has increased for the program. The program isn't worth it.

K-1 entry info

Turbo Tax was easy to use until I got the K-1!. I was warned that only turbo Tax Premium could handle the K-1. I am glad that I did not have to pay for Premium. However, I had difficulty understanding what I was supposed to do. I could not find the form that the K-1 instructions said I should use. Hopefully, Turbo Tax took care of that.
What's great about it: For the most part, Turbo Tax was eay to use.
What's not so great: Entering info for a K-1

Great as usual, pullilng and entering data as needed.
AWFUL in trying to print mail-in forms, es tax forms. Could not directly print the forms from turboTax!

Turbo Tax Premier for 2014

Some parts are difficult to understand or to use.
Suggestion: Give each new edition pre-release "reviews" by persons who are of average or low computer expertise, not just by "experts."
Parts were well done and easy to use, but others were difficult to understand.
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: Stuck in "loops." Uses some terms difficult to understand.

Great program!

Turbo Tax's Federal program is outstanding.
The State Programs, when you have to file in more than your one residentiall state, are not very good about explaining when and why you make adjustments to one or the other in order to pay the appropriate taxes to each state without paying double taxes to both states. The two state programs I use are CA and AZ; always wonder after I file whether I answered TT's "fill-in" questions correctly, but overall, very good tax programs.
What's great about it: Easy Step does most of the work for you
What's not so great: I have 2 states and trying to figure out the correct credits to take on each is not at all clear.

The program seems much better than the versions I used in 2003 and 2004
What's great about it: economical
What's not so great: loading software
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
