I have used Turbo Tax for years now and every year it just gets easier and easier!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax makes doing taxes so much easier by answering all of the mundane questions without you even having to ask them
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

High Assurance and Four Stars

It is fantastic that the exercise is simply "editing" a previous years report. This makes gathering and entering essential information very easy. I feel very confident I have done the best I can do to minimize my tax burden.
What's great about it: Thank you, Very easy and assuring to use.
What's not so great: A little confusing to print essential forms for personal records. Disappointed I had to use Premium instead of Delux.

Excellent

Overall excellent. For the state return (Ill) for homeowner credit listed property numbers for adjoining lots, which was confusing.
For federal, the imports for stock sales didn't import purchase date or purchase price, both were available.
What's great about it: Keeps getting better and better
What's not so great: Imports for stock sales didn't get all the data needed, had to hand type

Mixed reactions for this year
on March 19, 2015

I was very disappointed in the cost hike for the version I needed to handle some rather simple downloads of investments from mutual funds. I also did not like that Turbo Tax made it very hard to find a way to not e-file my state return. It almost forced me to pay $20 to e-file until I made it through the awkward steps to file my NC return. Not a good way to go. I will seriously rethink using TurboTax next year after this experience.
What's great about it: Easy to use and import from past years data
What's not so great: High cost and difficult to not e-file state return

I have used Turbotax for at least 10 years. I am fortunate to understand basic tax, and find the exact forms I need. TurboTax is very, very good, considering all the goofy tax regulations and forms it has to deal with.
What's great about it: Mostly easy to work with
What's not so great: Didn't easily handle multiple IRA and SEP contributions

Stock Option Information Needed
on March 19, 2015
Posted by: RyyY
Could not find any useful information or forms to properly fill out stock option information such as writing or selling of puts and calls. On-line help was useless as well with no one having any information which I find incredible. Millions of people trade options everyday!! Also was unable to find any phone number to contact TurboTax regarding this issue. Will not use this service again next year unless they correct this glaring deficiency.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use-inputs last years data etc. well.
What's not so great: Could not find anywhere how to properly fill out stock option information.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Great program, but did not cover all stitualtions.

TurboTax is a great program, but it did not completely cover the sale of a rental property in Hawaii. Specifically, the estimated tax required by the State (Form N-288A). The estimated tax was placed on the wrong line (N-1, Line 55) of the Hawaii N-15 Form and I could not change the entry. Also, the Hawaii N-15 had to be submitted via mail, which was due to the requirement to attach the N-288A form. However, I would have hoped that TurboTax could have worked out a solution with the State to allow a PDF attachmemt for the N-288A. Finally, online help for this situration was not helpful; although more information was provided, but only after some frustrating research time.
What's great about it: Easy to use in general.
What's not so great: Did not cover all situaltions.
