fix errors

When asked to fix errors, It was extremely difficult to get to area to make change. EX-1 long term capital gains-f box for codes. EX-2 changing residence dates so didn't extend beyond 365 days.

Complicated Return Complete

Because I've used TurboTax the past few years, a lot of our info was easily transferred to our current filing. I like the step by step approach. The comments and hints were helpful. Some of my situations that were new to me were explained very well. For example, my spouse started the year contributing to an IRA but enrolled in a employer sponsored 401k plan mid year. Because of her modified adjusted gross income was high we were not able to deduct her IRA contributions. The Turbo Tax help gave a very short but succinct explanation. Didn't like the answer but I now know why.
What's great about it: Besides the step by step instructions; I like the explanations for the different situations
What's not so great: The way the functionality was packaged in the various TurboTax products. Greed

Good Product But Upgrade Requirement Not Good

I have been using this product for many years and it has always served me well. For 2014 they eliminated the ability in prepare Schedule D from my product, but gave me an upgrade to Premier at no cost so I could make the entry.
I receive dividends from one batch of shares that I received when my insurance company went from mutual to public. I really do not want to have to buy an upgrade to be able to enter that one line item in my return. I hope they will go back to having that feature in TurboTax Deluxe next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand
What's not so great: Requires upgrade to Premier if any stock dividends received

This is the 3rd year I have used this product.

The itemized charitable contributions has helped us save money. In the past I was using estimates way below what I could be using. I also like the fact I can manually enter items not included in the program. We save three hours of preparation time and the calculations are much faster.
What's great about it: Itemized charitable deductions and deduction checks.
What's not so great: Boo Hoo...I finish in half the time.

Almost perfect

very good, still have to navigate backdoor rothe on your own (or outside blog support), foreign tax credits still a headache but that actually isn't TT's fault but not a lot of extra hints in that section. Overall glad I used TT this year again.
What's great about it: pretty painless, good hints all along

Filing PIN Instructions

Instructions were not detailed enough to correct or locate the source of the problem.
Finally had to file using "Standard Mail"
I think problem can be corrected by Turbo Tax and IRS easily if addressed.
I prefer e-filing over mail.

What's great about it: Input instructions easy to follow, as usual. Data input went smooth.
What's not so great: IRS E-Filing pin provided was not accepted. Made multiple attempts to file.

Instructions of printing were not clear
Disappointing this year
After 8 years of turbo tax perhaps its time for a change.
What's great about it: Transfer of dividends from Amertrade was smooth
What's not so great: Transfer of last years data was not done at all
