Glad that is done

To better explain the "con" above, if you were going through the income section, you hit start, and it brings up a series of more questions to answer under that category. When you are done, you have to scroll back to the next start topic rather returning to the next item.
What's great about it: Free upgrade to Premium because it was needed for the return
What's not so great: When you finished a sub section you had to scroll back to where you were. No automatic return.

Been using Turbo Tax for years. Cost less that a CPA and great for those whose returns aren't super complicated.
What's great about it: East to follow guide. Helps along the way too.

Got a GOOD Refund

This was the third time I have used Turbo Tax. Each year it gets better and better! I am looking forward to next year! This is the first year that I got a refund from my State.
What's great about it: Was fairly easy to use and follow.
What's not so great: Some explanations could be better defined.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy as ever. Went straight through with no errors. Grabbed all my 1099 forms with no issues (great feature).
What's great about it: No Errors the first time through
What's not so great: Need option to skip income options that don't apply
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Again disappointed!

No housing allowance for Ministers. Had to override again which is not recommended, but a must. Used to be able to click on a form in "forms" to bring up the original one. It brings up a copy that you can't do anything with except view it. Just harder to get around this year....every year, harder & harder And again......thinking about going with something else for 2015; something more user friendly.
What's great about it: Can purchase it thru Costco....good price.
What's not so great: Gets harder & harder each year. Thinking about going another way for 2015.

Using Turbo Tax

Because of the changes Turbo Tax (TT) made to their software, I needed to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier. Thankfully and gratefully, there was no charge by them to upgrade. This year, I also let TT download some information. It usually takes me about 20 minutes to type in the information, but it took only about 30 seconds to download the information as I was on the phone with the other company who walked me through the downloading process. It was great to use. Older people can learn something new.
What's great about it: It transfers everything from past yearsand does state taxes with record speed.
What's not so great: Had to have upgrade this year. I have always used Delux but needed a higher grade since they changed some things.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Schedule K-1's not clearly and accurately treated
on March 18, 2015

I had to dig deeply into IRS instructions for Schedule D to understand what was happening with information I received on a Real Estate Schedule K-1. Very poorly presented and explained in the Turbotax questions.
I had to dig out old copies of VA state taxes to total up carry-overs instead of having them tracked in Turbotax from my 2013 returns.
What's great about it: Continuity year-to-year to capture carry-overs
What's not so great: Schedule K-1s are not handled fully. VA state details do not carry over
