TT 2015 Pricier and More Complex

A large price increase for a more limited tax package. Where one package covered several tax situations (I do the taxes for some relatives and friends) I was now required to buy a second package--effectively raising the price of the necessary software even more.
Some of the questions we had to answer were not well defined and your questions, at times, were ambiguous. This was not the smooth working TT I was used to. Note: I am a TT user for the last 15 years.
What's great about it: Finally completed the return in what appears to be correct form.
What's not so great: Significant price increase for more limited returns with several steps more difficult to follow

Helped with complexities

This year I had a few additional complexities due to inheritance issues - IRA distributions, 1099-R, donations, etc. TurboTax made it easy to fill out the forms with confidence.
What's great about it: knowing what forms to use
What's not so great: no complaints

Many individual donations remain the same from year to year. I would like to see TTax carryover the donations to the next year's form. If I donate differently, I can edit them. This is preferred to having to reenter ever donation again.

I've used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years.
What's great about it: Easy to use year to year. Like the way TurboTax walks you through all the possibilities.
What's not so great: So many questions for issues that are not applicable to me or likely most people.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Needs improved

When a person is deceased, change the wording to "the deceased" instead of you, implying your still alive.
What's great about it: Seems to cover everything
What's not so great: Too difficult to print easily, have more options (microsoft word). open office format, etc.

I have a particular tax situation and do not like how you can not go in and fill out particular forms. You are locked into answering the questions. For over 40 years I did my taxes by hand, it was good to have TT do the calculations. But because TT is trying to sell you upgrades, you are very limited on how to answer questions and you are stuck with buying upgrades to file a single K-1 that you did not make a dime off of. .
What's great about it: Each year there are less pros
What's not so great: Stuck answering questions. Old TT you could go in and write in the form. 2) You have to keep buying upgrades

Super Tool

Excellent Software and we can recall any tax report going back to 2003. With all the complexities of the law we could not do our taxes on our own without TurboTax
What's great about it: knows the questions, finds the special deductions, easy to use, super accurate
What's not so great: the 2014 loss of certain pages made it hard and had to buy the Premier Version
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
