Confused On Which TurboTax Product To Purchase

Just as in many previous years, I bought the "deluxe" version, then found I had to return it and buy the much more expensive "premier" version just to do the same type of return as I have done in the past. Was disappointed in this change.
What's great about it: Easy to work with except for one part
What's not so great: Had trouble understanding that I didn't have to buy another product just to file the state return electronically

TT2014 Experience

I will still use TT next year, but the price difference between Deluxe and Premier is big. Small folks like do not own business, so I have not need for those feature. I suggest keeping what Deluxe was helping folks like me with regular itemized with Stock options, that way I do not need to worry about business and rental program that I don't use.

What's great about it: Always easier to import previous year data, less mental needed to do the tax. A Trust worthy application.
What's not so great: Very dissapointed when TT changed Delux features and forced me to buy Premier brand. I did not like that surprise.

Some areas confusing

I had the hardest time with the form form for the HSA. The taxpayer originally had a individual HSA as did his wife. In mid-year the taxpayer was laid off and his wife HSA became a family plan. Calculating the correct answers was quite confusing.
What's great about it: Corrections are easy because of the automatic recalculations
What's not so great: Some areas are difficult to complete

Intuit's failure to explicitly inform users that the 2014 Deluxe edition no longer included certain forms provided in previous years showed an incredible lack of concern for TurboTax users. The excuses given for this failure indicated poor business judgement on the part of Intuit. The procedure for obtaining a refund for downloading the Premier edition of TurboTax to correct the situation also left a lot to be desired. Further, the problems encountered installing the state software after installing the Premier edition of TurboTax demonstrated an exceptional lack of technical competence. I've used TurboTax for many years but the problems encountered with the 2014 versions will make me consider seeking a alternative software product next year.
What's great about it: Made tax preparation easy, as expected.
What's not so great: Failure to alert users of Deluxe edition to forms not included.

Easy as pie

This software is extremely easy to use. I am not a tax professional so I don't always think of everything I need to file my taxes. Turbotax lets me know of every possible deduction I may qualify for. I have been a happy customer for years and have never had an issue with a return. Save your money on Tax Services. This is the way to go.

Getting Unweildy

TT needs a comprehensive rewrite instead of bandaging. I've been a user of TT for years, each year it becomes harder to use. There should be a way to walk through the forms with a means to amplify the entries. It is hard to jump around as the data presents itself. I know you can go to certain areas to enter data but try getting back to where you were. There are certain bugs which demand an answer before you can go forward. In short, I may look at other programs next year.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: one way only way
