TurboTax user for years. Always simple and uncomplicated with Basic. This year I was told I would have to upgrade to Premier to complete return. Return was more simple than last year!! Also, was unable to print return. Unable to convert PDF to Word. No print copy for records. Very perplexed!! Unlikely to use Turbo Tax again.
What's not so great: Coerced into upgrading to premier unnecessarily; couldn't print return!

Thanks for excellent software. I had to call Customer Service only once about trying to use "various" in leu of twelve specific dates for monthly payments from a mutual fund. The gentleman who helped me find a 'work-around' for this little problem was very polite and helpful. I will certainly use TurboTax next year.
What's great about it: Your software led me through the various options nicely.
What's not so great: It is not clear what I have to do to have the income data imported.

I have been using turboTax for years and it makes my tax burden quite easy. Sometimes I have had to go into the IRS tax forms and they are not simple to understand. TurboTax is easy to understand. I like it I use it and it works for me.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: Have None

What's not so great: Some items were a bit short in the explanation.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Find where the data came from

I found an entry on one of the work sheets that I did not understand. It was several dollars of Early Withdrawl penalty, but I could not see which investment to which it referred. I had lots of entries for interest and dividends. What I would have liked was to be able to click on the dollar amount in the worksheet and have it take me back to the question and answer section to show from where the entry came.
What's great about it: It was easy to understand the questions asked.
What's not so great: I could not always understand the answers from the help section.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Download did not work for 2013 return

The program did not import all financial information from institution that generated two 1099 forms.
What's great about it: Forms seemed easy to fill out. All calculations are correct.
What's not so great: The program did not load all info for investments. Audited by the IRS. Had to redo return and interest was charged

I was also charged for my "one Free" State tax form. I mistakenly downloaded CA first, didn't need it. Then I downloaded OR and filed that one-- and had to pay for my mistake. they should only charge if you use the State. NOT REALLY FREE! (Unless you never make a mistake!)
What's great about it: Easy to use, good explanations
What's not so great: 1099-MISC is very confusing, and not quite what the IRS website states.
