Clear and simple

Our returns are relatively simple, with standard itemized deductions, so why pay a Tax preparer the big bucks to enter the numbers into the same basic software the accountants use. Four Star because I had to purchase Premier to get the Schedule E form, otherwise, five stars.
What's great about it: Easy diirect step by step process.

Not much of research was needed. Everything was available online to review and confirm. Just needed my paperwork to be ready before i sat down to file the taxes. Sat down for few hours and completed all at once.
What's great about it: quick and easy

As long as everything goes smoothly TurboTax is a great program. However, help built into the program does not work well and call in system puts you on hold for long periods rather than providing call back when a rep is available.
What's great about it: good program if there are no problems

Ease of Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax Premier makes it easy. Instead of dealing with complicated forms, Turbo Tax ask us questions that make sense. Then TT places the answers on those complicated forms for us. Right now we are having trouble filing and need to figure out which of our connections/links is incorrect. Otherwise TT is the only way to go.

Best Thing about Doing taxes

TurboTax made it extremely easy to prepare and file my federal tax return. The interface is highly user friendly and is quite adequate for preparing the return for my admittedly non-complex tax situation...

great help

I am using turbotax for the first time and appreciated the walk through. It help me understand the details for filing and the extra deduction available to me. I am getting more back on my return than expected.
What's great about it: being walked thru
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Import and Hand Type Income

It should be noted that you can hand-type AFTER the import section is completed. I had items to import and local banks to hand type and didn't realize (for some time) that I had to complete ALL IMPORTING, then I was able to hand type local bank 1099int info.
What's great about it: Importing is great!!
What's not so great: Hand Typing confusing
