Easy File

I have used Turbo Tax for 13 years. Completing tax returns and filing could not be easier. Handles stock trades easily through brokerage imports.
What's great about it: Easy walk-through menus

I use it annually. This year CD was defective

Usually the CD works perfectly. This year I had trouble with transmitting and an errant $1 was in Other Deductions. Telephone support helped me fix it by providing a new download and they walked me through getting it working. Generally a good software package
What's great about it: Easy to use. Good community and notes
What's not so great: My CD wouldn't let me transmit and had a $1 negative number
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Only one problem

A lot of people use Turbo tax using a Mac computer. Turbo Tax Business needs to be on the Mac platform. I have to use an old computer to do my business taxes and can't transfer information from my records on my Mac to my old computer!!!!!!!!

Experience gets better each year

Overall an excellent experience. I have been using TurboTax for at least 15 years and I keep coming back. I file online and its easier every year.
What's great about it: Reminds me and covers all the bases
What's not so great: Still an occasional rare deduction it is not programmed to handle

Dealing with retirement issues was a bit of a pro

I like the way past years easily merge into the current, The hardest part was dealing with the retirement part plays into estimated taxes when future income is less.

What's not so great: Can't think of anything negative oc constructive.

BOUGHT THE PREMIER BECAUSE INTUIT WAS REPORTEDLY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DELUX VERSION. WAS HOPING TO GET A REBATE

Never Needed Premier Before This Year

I've never needed the Premier version before this year. I needed it for a long-term capitol carryover loss. I will definitely consider a cheaper alternative for 2015 return.

Too Dumbed Down

I have used Turbotax almost from the beginning ... mid 1990's. What was new this year, is I had to purchase "Premier" version just to get the forms I needed ... if you itemize you deductions you will need to purchase Premier.
Also when you go back to revisit an area, Turbotax will re-ask all the questions again, and many times doesn't remember your original answers ... very annoying!!
I would have gone with Taxact this year, but they don't have a Mac version for their downloadable software.
What's great about it: Off Line
What's not so great: Many - you now have to pay for the forms you need, Questions are too dumbed down.
