Good program. - some problems

As a user for over 10 years I have learned that when you change things they are not always for the better. Your print feature for our files should be able to review and print before you print to file. Also, should be easier to select which pages and forms to print. Not all backup is needed. Taxpayer should be able to more easily choose which pages to reprint.
Your help feature has to be a lot better and more easily to get the help needed. Also, when going to Community Forum, I found it minimally helpful and cumbersome. It used to be easier and better to get the help needed.
What's great about it: Program thorough and relatively easy to follow.
What's not so great: Help feature relatively non existent. Printing file copy awful.

Intuit really botched it with the rollout of TurboTax Deluxe edition. Intuit did upgrade me to Premier edition for free so that I could electronically file Schedule D for Capital Gains/Losses. It seems pretty cheap that the Premier edition does not include one free state e-file.
What's great about it: Ease of manuevering through the program
What's not so great: No free State with Premier edition??? How cheap!

File With Ease!

Turbo Tax is great! I use it every year and love that it covers all possible scenarios. It also offers extra tips on some of the more complicated step, but the tips help tremendously. I can't remember tax season without Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: detailed, organized
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

filing for years

I have been doing my own taxes with turbo tax for the past 5 years or so and my father did them for me through turbo tax before that. We love the simplicity. I have very easy taxes and it allows me to skip around to only look at the things that I need to fill out, while allowing my father the ability to go through all the options. It allows up to a certain number of filings each year which is perfect for our family who have three different independent filings.
What's great about it: + transfere year - to - year, + quick, + asks all the right questions
What's not so great: -have to purchase every year

Don't Like the Changes

Been using TT for many years. My life is relatively simple- uncomplicated investment income- WHY did I have to buy a souped up version? Does not make life easier or hold cost down. Go Back to what the general middle class population needs in an affordable package.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax auto fill from prior year's return
What's not so great: Had to buy a more expensive version this year

Pros: 99.9% This program does a better job than my Company CPA. And it is faster and less expensive.
Cons: .1% When reviewing Schedule E, you have to re-answered some questions over again. Please have your previous answer modal, with the option to change it.
What's great about it: 99.9% great
What's not so great: .1% repeat answering questions during review

Good, but could be better

Many explanations are either nonexistent or could provide more detail, or at least links to more detailed explanations.
What's great about it: Import feature very helpful
What's not so great: Explanations insufficient or missing

I was really upset this year that I had to spend quite a bit extra to get the investment features and will be looking at something different next year unless Intuit puts them back in.
