I like the fact that the history is there for future filings. If support is needed, you can get a real live person to help with questions not answered in the online support.
What's great about it: previous year fills in info automatically
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

95% easy; 5% frustrating

Overall, TurboTax is a great tool and saves lots of time 95% of the time. Turbo Tax works well and makes filing returns very easy. However, occaisionally there will be a slight glitch where you can not get TurboTax to do what you expect. My glitch from 2014 was with importing 1099-misc data (royalties) from my brokerage account. Although tax was computed correctly, my worksheets segregating my two Royalty Trusts did not carry forward A and B titles and address to schedule E (and you can not edit schedule E to add this info). However, the breakout of depletion, tax, etc did carry forward to schedule E correctly, but was not able to breakout the royalties between A and B, as info imported can not be edited. In total, it is correct tax wise, so I just made a note to myself incase IRS asks for address information.
What's great about it: Imports data from previous years, Imports stock transactions from brokerage
What's not so great: Schedule E does not include A,B,C descriptions from worksheets

Almost Painless!

I'm a long-time TurboTax user, and I appreciate the ease of completing my fairly complex taxes without having to consult and pay for a tax accountant or attorney. It almost becomes fun to watch the tax I owe after entering all the income go down as my deductions and credits are entered....especially when it crosses over to a refund!
What's great about it: Ease of entry and TurboTax getting everything to the right (and often complex) forms
What's not so great: Needed TurboTax Premier this year for my investments and limited partnerships...although I understand I can get $25 back
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Deluxe vs Premier was very time consuming

The Deluxe vs Premier was very confusing and time consuming. Had always used Deluxe in the past. Communications said one thing, yet when went to purchase something else happened. Very difficult to reach point where instructed to buy Deluxe and would be upgraded after purchase when needed to do stock transactions. Almost impossible to talk with a real person. Tried call back once, but waited over an hour and then I was not available when call returned. Overall process clearly not up to my prior Turbo Tax experience. Will reassess options next year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Some people who e-mail their returns have concerns over possible security issues. I do not have these concerns, since I mail my returns.
What's great about it: Easier installation compared to last year.
What's not so great: Higher price for software.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
