Fine Until Printing

"Cons" says it all. Could get ugly if you're running low on printer supplies
What's great about it: What I've come to expect -- logical and smooth
What's not so great: Printing is buggy: Partial pages, missing pages, multiple copies of the same page.

I really don't have anything bad to say about turbo tax. I have been using for at least 7 years and will keep using it.
What's great about it: I like how you can customize how you input your tax return
What's not so great: All of the questions can be overwhelming.

Great Experience

Simple to use and was very quick. Exellent product. They switched me from Deluxe to Premier with no additional charge! And brought me back to where I was in the process of completing the taxes.
What's great about it: super fast!
What's not so great: Downloaded 2 states and I only needed one! I should have the option before downloading.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

the free online costs more than purchasing the product depending upon your circumstance.
teaming up with family members and purchasing the product is worth the money.
What's great about it: Asks questions to assist you in filing returns with changes
What's not so great: you may have to upgrade to higher product

Sure beats the manual method

Not all income items would import - likely the institution not set up, but with all my varied investments, it's nice to be ale to have them downloaded instead of having to "plug-and-chug". Some slight discrepancies between "Credits" vs "Deductions", but nothing that can't be accounted for and corrected without a little actual thought. Been using TurboTax for about 10 years now, sure beats the old Manual Method, rifling from page to page, form to form, table to table, trying to interpret all the regulatory mumbo-jumbo.
What's great about it: Straightforward
What's not so great: Some conflicts with Credits vs Deductins

It takes a village to file your taxes

The pros of this program made filing from home possible for us. It took two days this year. So much verifying to make sure in was all "good data" going in. How could a preparer do that all?
The Oregon military pension subtraction debacle, was really caused by my naming DFAS differently in previous years so the service dates did not carry forward. Easy to see and fix, after I researched for hours and realized my mistake. Biggest help was the Q and A's available. A comment made by a contributor led me to research the right instructions and forms. The contributor had file an ammended return...YUK. Compelling me to research before I filed. OK, a preparer would have caught this error immediately. However, I am much better informed than I used to be, especially as to how TurboTax fills out forms.
What's great about it: accurate math, thorough tax knowlege base, complete enteries
What's not so great: oregon military pension subtraction is easily messed up
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Concider Hidden Cost for complete service

Love the step by step approach for addressing each line entry but getting really turned off by the feeling of getting nicked for additional various fees. Should sell software that will allow for all inclusive fillings for 1,2 or 3 state and federal fillings and E transfers. Getting so annoyed that concidering another software or professional filling
What's great about it: Step by Step imput / Program help
What's not so great: Nickled and Dimed
Pros: I bought or sold investments
