The covered/not covered madness from IRS needs some help from Turbo Tax. I needed more specific instructions on how to deal with this one. Made many mistakes and had to go back and repair them, then couldn't delete the errors and duplications. Please make this part of it easier. We all make mistakes and have to go back and fix them - why not have a way to delete the errors and clean it up. I ended up with a form full of zeros just to get the devil filed.

When a student receives a scholarship for athletics, that has to be reported. The questions in the software are somewhat hard to understand what to deduct, report as income, etc. due to a double negative used in the sentence... can't remember which one, but I had to do this question several times to figure out the proper way to file the money received and money spent on college.
What's great about it: Detailed Questions to help complete the forms
What's not so great: Some of the questions around college scholarships and deductions are confusing

Down loading from Banks and Brokerage worked for two accounts, didn't work for others , - no apparent reason.
Clear data on handling of Capital Gains, earlier in the process, would be desireable.

Been using Turbo Tax for years. Unless you have a very complicated situation, I do not get why anyone would pay others to do their taxes.
What's great about it: Stable software, no crashes, easy to follow
What's not so great: None

I love this software. Makes it so easy to do your own taxes especially when you use it year after year.

What's not so great: Wish e-filing state returns were free like federal return

error check does not work for passive activity

passive activity box B should generate required entry. It did not.
