An exceptional tool

TurboTax is an exceptional tool for the filing of both federal and state taxes. The guided review is the path to follow; however, there is the option to look into any given form and correct any details that may not be quite right.
What's great about it: Clear explanation caught IRA detail
What's not so great: No problem

Simplifies Complicated Things

This is the 17th year straight that I've used Turbo Tax. I thought I might need to switch to an accountant this year since my dependent teenage son started college and is also employed. Turbo Tax handled these situations with no problem though. We also filed a second return for my son using the same software. I'll be using this product for at least another 17 years (God willing).
What's great about it: Step by Step Guidance is Great!
What's not so great: It's a little difficult for me to determine what is going to be printed (or what needs to be printed).

I have used TurboTax for several years now and am now encouraging my oldest son to start using it instead of paying someone else to do taxes for he and his wife. I like the detailed explanations and additional help content. My financial life isn't overly complex, however I do have stock investments and trading activity to include, and the Premier version works great!
What's great about it: Was easy to use and o follow through all the different topics. Why pay someone else to do it?

Easy

I always use Turbo Tax but this year I needed to itemize a lot of deductions. I was very impressed by the help I received through the online questions and answers and the phone help I received .Very happy I was able to finish and file without hiring someone to do it.
What's great about it: it was easier than I thought to itemize with the software
What's not so great: sometimes confusing questions
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Fairly Fast

The tool was generally helpful. I was surprised that a second W2 had to be entered manually instead of just importing as with the first one.
What's great about it: I liked W2 and Interest/dividend import.
What's not so great: Some of the Schedule C questions could use a little better explanation.

2014 taxes

This year taxs got rougher. Maybe im just geting older. I found software fron 2006-2014in the file.
This year Jill helped me out on correcting dates on charitable contributions.
What's great about it: Familiar with turbotax
What's not so great: Form and dealing with IRS,email could be easier
