Good overall but room for improvement

Just married this year, so would have been helpful to be able to import and merge my spouse's Turbo Tax file from last year, and to review it (like when I was asked to verify my tax info from last year). Also, it seems pretty elementary to give me a comparison of "Married" vs. "Married but filing as Single". It would also help to be able to delete my adult children from the "family" page since I'm not going to claim them anymore.
What's great about it: Easy to use, nice short explainations with links to detailed info
What's not so great: While reviewing, makes you re-answer questions; couple other areas
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Not near as good as previous years

I believe that with the cost of Turbo Tax, they should provide answers to questions, instead of having to go to the community for help. They could have a hotline either by phone or online to provide some direct help to their customers. I think Turbo Tax has gone downhill, especially the last couple of years. I have used Turbo Tax for years & have noticed the difference. Also some of the forms in previous years were missing in this years turbo tax & they charged extra to get them.
What's great about it: It is easy to follow through.
What's not so great: Who wants to ask the community for help? I don't.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Ripoff for 2014

I had to upgrade to the premium edition because i sold $900 of stocks. And I qualify for standard deductions! It is a lot of money to pay merely for the convenience of filling out a form electronically.
I don't like the fact that when clicking DONE on a certain section takes one back to the top of the previous screen, then have to scroll down to your last entry.
What's great about it: It could have cost even more.
What's not so great: cumbersome screens and little value recieved for convenience

I've used TurboTax for at least 4-5 years. I itemize in alternate years, doubling up on charitable contributions in odd # years and file with a standard deduction in even # years. For standard deduction years, I need to "delete" the many charities I donated to during the itemizing years. It would be nice if history would be carried forward for more than 1 year. I needed to add the charity in 2011, delete in 2012, re-add in 2013, and delete in 2014. It would be nice if it remembered them all from 2 years ago.

TurboTax remains a quality product that I will continue to rely on year after year. Keep improving your flow and making the tax law easy for anyone to adhere to.
What's great about it: Easy flow and informative
What's not so great: Some of the questions still required a second and third review to fully understand what was being asked.

Instructions for amended returns are BAD. No paperwork showed that it was an amended return until the final forms were printed for mailing.
What's great about it: Easy to use and elec-file
What's not so great: amended returns are a real pain.

The program is easy to follow. If there is an unusual amount to enter for an unusual tax problem, there needs to be more explanations to assist in filing this complicated situation. Sometimes I end up calling the IRS to get the rules for a complicated tax situation.
What's great about it: Accurate and easy to follow steps
What's not so great: More explanations for unusual circumstances
