Could Be Better

I have been using TT for years now, but feel that the emphasis has been placed on "let us do the work for you." I would prefer this to just be a gentle guide for me as I fill in the forms. I believe TT is now directed at people with little to no tax experience, and that does not apply in my case.
What's great about it: state and federal link/interaction, ease of eFiling
What's not so great: lacking ease of ability to manually change needed items, often difficult to find underlying calculations
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Made it one more year

I have been a user since the 90's and keep coming back because I actually like the software. For the most part I pick up on the modifications by the time I finish and this is a good thing. I would like a way to try to make various changes to my return and if I do not like them just be able to undo them.
What's great about it: Saves me from tax professionals
What's not so great: needs a test or check button to try something and then remove it if it turns out wrong.

Do not appreciate your forcing me to purchase the Premier version when I have been using Deluxe for years. I understand that this is due to the capital gains worksheet which you had been e filing in prior years but not for 2014 returns.
I am really not happy with your doing so at all.
What's not so great: Forced to purchase Premier version to efile

Excellent - Except for K-1's

Followed instructions, entered info as needed. Checked relevant forms - very helpful. A real time saver. However, Turbo Tax should print a special educational manual for K-1's - their K-1 instructions are not adequate to complete Federal forms and especially Pennsylvania State returns - spent long hours with unfamiliar terms. Their pop up "Help boxes" do help a bit but I feel more could be done.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and use. E filing a cinch.
What's not so great: K-1 instructions poor

10th Year

My tenth year of using Turbo Tax for state and federal tax returns. In addition to the ease of use and having the previous years information available, the ability to down load my investment information from Fidelity Investments is a KEY element in Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: None

Overall a great tool and makes tax preparation much easier over manual methods of wading through forms and instructions.
What's great about it: ease of walking through multiple topics
What's not so great: would like to be able to access tax history - prior years data
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used for years and it is generally a good product. This is the first year I had to use something more than Basic because they moved some features from Basic to Deluxe.
For my oil royalties it seemed to get messed up and try to sell me the business version. Also brokerage info was erroring on fields asking for state info. I just put in XX for the state and it seemed to let me do that. The help was of no help on this topic.
What's great about it: Import of W-2 and Broker statement data is huge
What's not so great: Oil Royalty handling seems a bit messed up plus asking for state of exempt income
Pros: I bought or sold investments
