Always easy to do

Except for the problem with my CD, this year went as well as in the past. This is a good product and makes my tax filing simple and straightforward.
What's great about it: Straightforward
What's not so great: CD arrived damaged; but received new software via download

Availability of experts on phone is a nice feature.

What's not so great: explanations are not always comprehensible.

Easy Work

Take your time and read each screen carefully before you proceed. It periodically offers extra services that you don't need and can easily order by mistake. Make sure you have all your tax info available and organized before you start. and the return will be a piece of cake.
What's great about it: Good walk through process
What's not so great: Easy to order something you don't need

OK - I got it done

I have used turbotax for about 15+ years and like the software. There are lots of updates required - every time you log in... The people/faces they use are not necessary and seem to be playing to those who might feel they are getting personal help. This is software and I just need to get it completed quickly and accurately.
What's great about it: I was able to complete the return in reasonable time
What's not so great: Too many questions from the goofy characters on the page
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

too many mouse clicks to ask the same question over and over again. You need to know the status and change defaults the 2nd time through. Probably needs a complete re-write of your code.
And typical I cant use a 3 letter nickname. Don't tell me what to do with something as simple as that - a shortcoming in your software.
What's great about it: has info from previous years
What's not so great: Stilll way too much selling on unnecessary services and too many clicks to bypass these questions

Premier versus Deluxe version

I was forced to buy the premier version this year because the deluxe version does not download the broker 1099 forms. The premier version did not download the broker 1099 form for days without any explanation message. I had to keep on trying and finally the download went through.
May have to try another tax software next year......

Recommended Changes

Each time a deduction is entered to continue you must scroll all through all previous deductions. Recommend this be changed to the end of deduction entries and a review of all entries just once.
I have used TurboTax for several years and obviously am pleased with it.
Also concerned about the security of our filings.
What's great about it: Transfer of Data from previous year
What's not so great: Repetition of Deductions
