TTAX Premier

Been using TTAX for many years. Have always been satisfied.
Have had an occasional problem with the software but it was easy to contact TTAX and get problem resolved.
Very brief wait time for very good customer service.

What's great about it: Used Friendly. Very detailed, covers all situations
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

So Easy!!

Turbo Tax made my life so much easier this year. We sold a rental home and having Turbo Tax do the calculations and generate the forms was amazing. I have always done our taxes myself but as time has gone by and we have more investments it was getting harder to keep up with everything. My son has been telling me to get Turbo Tax for about 4 years but I would not listen. Now I am sorry I didn't as each year I spend so much time checking and rechecking my figures and calculations to make sure they are right. I didn't have to do that this year as I just had to make sure that the one's I entered were correct and Turbo Tax did the rest.
What's great about it: Not having to do the calculations manually
What's not so great: None that I can really think of.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

It was great to receive a free upgrade to the Premier version this year as I sold some stock and have a minor interest in a gas well. I am disappointed that I will have to pay for the upgrade next year but it is a lot less expensive that paying to have my taxes done, especially at the rate of $100 per form! It's nice that I can do my own taxes and it typically does not take more than about 10 hours.
What's great about it: good for a moderately complicated return
What's not so great: not always easy to find correct location for data; the program wants to print a lot more pages than I need.

Review 2014 TurboTax for Mac

It familiar with past year software so it doesn't seem overwhelming. This update was tougher to go back and make corrections without using the back bottom a lot. When the final review found and error yu could select and have it link you the the entry you had to find it backing your way through it all.
What's great about it: Familiar from prior years
What's not so great: Not easy to find and edit entries

Tax Filing Made Easy

When you want to go back to check something, you have to reanswer the yes and no questions again by clicking on those circles. Also, it doesn't always go back to enough detailed information, such as automobile deductions. It also includes too much in those deductions. If you want actual expenses, such as "repairs only" then let it be "repairs only." Not this whole complicated thing about the year of the car, when you bought it, and what cost, etc ...
What's great about it: Walks you through the process.
What's not so great: When you go back to check things, you have to reanswer those yes and no questions.

Too expensive

Last year I used the basic version. This year I have to use the Premier version at 3x the cost. I am going to look at other software. Your price increase has just lost you another customer. What were you thinking Turbotax?

Disappointed

Had to upgrade to premier, screens frequently froze, problems paying on-line for State filing fee and filing electronically (spent at least 2 hours on the phone, eventually had to uninstall and reinstall program which broke the State filing fee that I had to pay over the phone which required another call to HelpDesk).
What's great about it: Relatively easy walkthru
What's not so great: Had to upgrade to premier, screens frequently froze, problem filing electronically
