Premier shortcomings

I am not pleased with having to upgrade to Premier and then having no option to adjust a donation to reflect the actual allowed deduction. I could not e-file because supporting documents are required, so I do not get the "refund" promised. Not very happy with the way Turbo Tax has shoved an inferior product down our throats.
What's great about it: Carries info forward each year
What's not so great: Had to upgrade, yet still could not handle a CRUT donation with out override.

Turbo tax helped me maximize my refund an ensure I have done all I need to avoid overpaying!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent Tax Software

I've been using TurboTax for years and it just keeps getting easier to use every year. Love how it can download your tax information straight from your financial institutions. That made my tax filing so much easier and a lot less time consuming.

You messed up

We wanted to pay for state tax fee with our state refund but it said it would deduct the fee from our federal tax refund. We have no federal tax refund. We owe federal taxes. So what is up??? For Pete's Sake!!!!! So we had to enter a credit card number and Martha hates to give out any credit card info. I think your programmers made a mistake, but fixing it now will be too late for me. For Pete's Sake!!!!! Love from Jack

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. I was having a professional do it, and I saw they were doing it on Turbo Tax and I said, well, I can do that. You guide a person thru everything, so much better than the old fashion way we had to do it reading the IRS instructions.

Great Product!!!!

TurboTax performs all required tasks exceptionally well for my purposes with the exception of the one Form that I have never had to provide to the IRS before. That form is 8283.
The form requires info that my financial advisors and the fund management stated is not required. I attempted to override the required TurboTax data and enter the data provided by my financial institution but it would not let me. So, I had my fund provide me with a signed copy of the 8283 Form for me to file and substituted it for the form TurboTax generated.
Other than this one glitch it did an excellent job and therefore deserves an excellent rating.
What's great about it: Premier does everything one can expect
What's not so great: Needs work on collecting the required info for completion of Form 8283

Keep deluxe for most Filers. Simple Investment transactions and home sales.
What's great about it: easy walk through
What's not so great: getting more complex, having to upgrade for home use to Premium
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
