What's great about it: Liked the "walk through" each section. Like to be able to search information needed in my home office!

Multiple States but no crosschecking

Had a situation where my wife's retirement sent money to VA even though we did not live there but the state tax return did not see it and we were unable to get that refund.

maybe an instruction sheet would help first time users. overall you make tax time not so bad.
What's great about it: Very detailed and inclusive.
What's not so great: toolbar puzzling/confusing to navigate at times

Another Great Year with Turbo Tax!

I had some complexities with my investments this year that I have not had in the past. Turbo Tax had all the right questions and forms and it was no big deal.
All the other details were handled as in the past. E-linking the information from past years and downloading investment info directly from the investment firms saves lots of time and potential entry errors.
I also appreciate the thoroughness of the reviews and checks.

Somewhat disappointed this year

Never had ANY issues with TT Deluxe in past years. First, this year there was very poor communication on the part of the TT administrators regarding the removal of investment forms from Deluxe. When I learned this via email, I had to return the Deluxe and purchase the Premier (waste of time, gas, and extra money). Then learned in another email that they were putting the forms back into the Deluxe program. What a clusterfoo....!
Secondly I couldn't start my State file. I called TT and they said there was a delay until late Feb. they never told me this was due to hackers who compromised there programs.
All this being said, I was not overly satisfied with TT this year and may consider an alteernative software package going forward.

Ease to use once you have a previous filing.

Good experience the explanations are clear for usual questions however some the rarer situations the explanations are hard to understate. Though a Master Limited Partnership payed some foreign taxes not a substantial amount but it always causes an error that I cannot fixes so I end up deleting the entry.
What's great about it: transferring last year filing is really ease.
What's not so great: Not you fault but tax fillings are getting harder and harder.

Great Way To Do Taxes

If you have investments, it is the only way to file your taxes. With Turbo Tax you import all your investment information right into your return. You just have to review it for any possible errors. And using Turbo Tax each year your information from the prior year, such as carryovers and IRA data, are brought into your new return. It is so easy to do your taxes that it is fun.
What's great about it: Easy & Quick

Used Turbo Tax for years

We had some one from our church who is a tax professional and they said let me do your taxes. We told them we had it on Turbo Tax, but they said lets do it any way. When they did it, it came out with the exact figures we already had from Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: You can get the same return as if you went to a tax professional.
What's not so great: Just this year. I had to upgrade to Premier and it said I would get a $25 refund but there was no more explanation.
