I especially wanted to print the page comparing 2013 with 2014. Had to hand write columns, i.e., total income, deductions, taxable, taxes owed, paid/credits/owe. Husband would like to have that list in hand instead of looking over my shoulder as I showed him the page. Software jumps to choice of forms, etc. to print. Have used Turbo Tax since our 2002 return when our regular person goofed on where to mail the return. Before I did, I bought Turbo Tax and it found us a greater refund and the correct mailing address. Fan ever since.
What's great about it: Really easy, especially if you've done your own taxes since 1956!
What's not so great: You won't let me print page comparing 2013 with 2014.

Preparing taxes was similar to previous years except I had to upgrade to premium. I think the execs in the company got greedy and saw a chance to extract more money from loyal customers. Because of the uproar that occurred when people were forced to upgrade Turbo did the smart thing and back tracked. So, I guess I'll stay with them next year unless they do something else that smells fishy.
Also had some concerns because of the illegal returns that were being filed. I hope that is resolved and better steps are taken for security of return information.

I HAD TO PAY!

Do to poor planning on my part, I had to pay this year. I have corrected the inequitable withholding and should be fine next year.

MOSTLY GOOD, SOME PROBLEMS

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR MANY YEARS (10+)....NEVER HAD PROBLEMS UNTIL 2014. COULD NOT PRINT; VERY FRUSTRATING. STATE AUTO PICKED A FORM I DID NOT WANT OR NEED. E-FILE WENT AUTO TO "CHECK E-FILE" WHEN I HAD NOT FILED YET. PROGRAM SEEMS TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN AT TIME.
What's great about it: MOSTLY GOOD
What's not so great: AUTO PU OF FORM I DID NOT NEED FOR NYS; COULD NOT PRINT

TT walks you through every detail and is very thorough and almost enjoyable (or about as enjoyable as paying taxes can be).
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough.
What's not so great: I hate the hoops you have to jump through. Not Quicken's fault.
