2014 taxes

overall this year was great and the turbo tax couldn't have been easier to use. Next year will be a transition year for us since we will both be retiring so hopefully everything will be as simple next year with the selling of funds and moving things around in our retirement accounts.
What's great about it: very easy to use
What's not so great: none come to mind
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Still A Good Tax Prep Package

Price increases with no major improvements makes for a bad buy. Can't wait to see next years configuration and pricing.
What's great about it: The little gliches seem to be fixed. Easy and through step-by-step makes it all easy.
What's not so great: The price this year and escalation for next year

Review of TurboTax Premier 2014

Overall, the product is superb. It takes away almost all the headaches the complex tax code imposes on taxpayers. I would recommend it highly to anyone wanting trouble free, accurate assistance with tax return preparation. One minor issue I encountered is that after saving a file which is in work, I may not be taken back to the place where I left off when I reopen the file. It may open at the beginning, requiring navigation back to the desired position; no data is lost; it's just a minor inconvenience which might be due to operator error.
What's great about it: Quick, reliable, accurate, cost effective

Black eye for turbotax

First I had to update because of form D
Then the state rejected my return four times for the same reason. Incomplete address info on my 1099's. Finally gave up and mailed it in

Have used Turbo tax for several years. Has always been easy to prepare, accurate, easy to file. Haven't had any problems with Federal or State concerning returns.
What's great about it: Accuracy, ease of preparing, help available
What's not so great: None

Gets better every year in terms of the interview and ease of going to where you want to go by yourself. Transfer of information from previous years is flawless. Always anticipates my questions and answers them or provides and option to get what I need at a later time. Bottom line is that it makes it possible to file taxes. Even for a relatively simply return, which does have AMT, brokerage sales,etc., it would not be possible to do it manually; absolutely impossible. So when I say it is a pleasure to file the taxes with TurboTax, I really mean it.
What's great about it: A pleasure to file taxes, if that is possible!
What's not so great: Nothing

always been a fan, not so much this year

every year we do my in-laws tax returns without issue. this year the deluxe software did not support royalty income reported on schedule E. We had to upgrade in order to resolve the nominal amount of royalty income received. The software allowed us to override in the royalty column but would not allow us to submit the taxes until we paid the thirty dollars to upgrade.
We will change providers since your company has decided to be inconsistent with its application of annual procedures.
Maybe you can convince me why it is a good idea to continue with turbo tax.
What's great about it: consistent process until this year
What's not so great: misinformed, possible ignorance on my part
