Got Through It

Several places it "hung" this year. Would not finish the process when trying to update partner info at the interest/div questions. Hung when attempting to pay for the State e-file and hung again when trying to transmit the return. It seemed to have a lot of bugs this year and has me wondering if this is the way to go next year even though I have used Turbo tax for over 10 years to file my returns.
What's great about it: Interactive interview or jump to where you want to go screens
What's not so great: Lots of issues when it attempted to contact your website

Return rejected because of your software bug
on March 8, 2015

Even though you upgraded my Deluxe software to premium. I found lot of information missing. On top of that my return was rejected due to your software bug. It says fix will be available on March 13th. It is a common thing. Disappointed. I may not use turbo tax next year. I have been using it since 1995 or earlier.
What's not so great: This year your software didn't meet my expectation

I am satisfied with the quick and easy way to file my tax. However, the additional cost was not informed to customer at the beginning.
What's great about it: All the steps are very clear
What's not so great: did not tell the total estimated cost at the beginning
Pros: I moved

Beats a CPA

Because I've used Turbo Tax before, the carryover from year to year is helpful. I felt confident in the accuracy of the return and that the information provided would not trigger an audit. I felt turbo tax picked up things I might have missed - both in income and deductions.
What's great about it: Security. Completeness. Accuracy

its pricey but its very easy and quite intuitive to use i feel when it comes to stock and other investment its not that easy and times you do not know how the turbo tax is deducting the amount, may be it will be great idea to add more information when tax is getting deducted when i added loss or profit that what was the tax rate that got deducted etc .. and i did not see any college saving plan deduction option ...
What's great about it: easy and intuitive
What's not so great: The stock trading section is little confusing

A complicated return but Turbo Tax made it easy.

I've used Turbo Tax for several years. I have investments that include foreign companies. I like the fact that it imports the basic information from the prior year's returns so little typing is needed unless you change jobs or move. Even the itemized deductions come across to help you remember donations. My friends with less complicated returns spend $200 or more for a temp hire tax clerk to input all of the data that they had to gather. So basically paying for someone to type the information they have.
What's great about it: Step by step prompts. Checks for errors before submitting.
What's not so great: A little difficult to slect the correct version but I understand this will be fixed next year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Don't know how I would get this done without T-Tax. Thanks.
What's great about it: Loved Being able to download 1099's
What's not so great: Needed to refer to IRS Pubs for some transactions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Awkward
on March 9, 2015

1. It was BIG BUST to change what and how things were covered between Deluxe and Premium.
2. When working step-by-step, when one completed one menu item, they were returned to the main menu page, and then had to page down to find the next menu item. SUGGEST that one just be sent to bottom of the menu page and the next item.
What's great about it: Choice of step-by-step or going direct
What's not so great: Awkward way in which step-by-step takes one back to the big menu page instead of the most recent menu selection
