OK for simple stuff

I had a very hard time understanding what to do with some of the forms I was required. Unless the instructions are more clear and explanatory, I may need to hire a tax man. Not happy about that or the tricky escalation in cost.
What's great about it: able to navigate easily
What's not so great: poor directions on things like AMT

This seems to get more difficult each year. When I review preview copy things are missing. Go to forms work sheet and it says it will automatically fill out items on a form. It did not. Software does not ask you some questions and you have to go into worksheets to update. This happened last year also. If you don't know you need to go to worksheets you could miss some data that needs to be entered.
What's great about it: transfered previous years data
What's not so great: had to review - missing data infor did not transfer to forms

had to override a value, so couldn't e-file

My 1098-T showed values that did not reflect what needed to be filed for scholarship money due to the dates the college bill hit and the scholarship paid for it. TurboTax could not understand this, so I had to override a value. A tax professional verified that I was entering the proper values. I was not allowed to e-file because I overrode a value. I'm going elsewhere next year.
What's great about it: somewhat easy to navigate
What's not so great: had to override a value to to incorrect programming

I had no idea when I picked up TBT Deluxe this year that it originally was not going to let me file investment income. I don't have much and it's not complicated. This could cause me to switch products after many years with TBT.
What's great about it: Gets easier every year.
What's not so great: I will not pay extra to file investment income.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Import of previous return is almost perfect...

I don't know why, but after I imported a 2013 return, I was still asked for Adjusted Gross Income, Taxable Interest, and Taxable Social Security Income during the income entry phase. I had to bring up the 2013 return to get this info.
Maybe next tweak could automatically look up this information?
What's great about it: I did my son's return in less than an hour with 2013 import
What's not so great: However I had to look up 3 pieces of 2013 info for some reason!
