Fantastic Product

Love this product. For the kids out there that don't remember doing taxes by hand (try it just once) and you'll know how great this software is.
What's great about it: Fast and Easy
What's not so great: Small text that can't always be enlarged on help screens

Are you really sure?

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now because it was a quick and easy way to prepare my taxes.
However, this year my use of Turbo Tax has resulted in additional headaches. The two in particular that was annoying was how after Turbo Tax was prompted to review the taxes for errors, I still had to make corrections and they were errors that Turbo Tax caused due to incorrect value inputs to certain fields such as inputing 0.0001 versus 0. The worst annoyance was after a software update, what I owed to my State tax increased by $500+ dollars. After I had to do a review to see what happened versus Turbo Tax telling me that they had a software error that resulted in an incorrect field completed, I was very upset because if I was to have submitted the taxes prior to getting that software update, I would have filed an incorrect return that could have been bad for me if an audit occurred.
I buy Turbo Tax for convenience and ease of use and the trust that it prepared taxes correctly and I was severely disappointed that I felt like I had to do more work this year to prepare my taxes.
My experience with using Turbo Tax this year will definitely cause me to reevaluate how I will do my taxes next year since I am looking for convenience and ease of use and Turbo Tax did not do that for me this year. Finally, the trust that Turbo Tax will do it correctly has diminished with me.

Another sucessful year

I hope that I don't have to pay for the Premier Addition next year to complete the ONE form that was not in the Deluxe Addition this year.
What's great about it: Seemed even easier this year
What's not so great: No issues
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Great for Capitol Gaines

Good when your situation changes and special filing is needed.
Found a tax credit on state return I was not aware of.
Mailed the state return as priority mail is cheaper than electronic filing.
Will use again next year.

Uncomplicated a complicated tax year

I had a more complicated tax year in 2014 and Turbo Tax was able to handle it and walk me through it step by step.
What's great about it: step by step clear instructions and explanations

I found Turbo Tax to be intuitive and thorough and did not incur any bugs in operating it. It is also flexible in how I enter the information, without being rigid in changing from one way to another.
What's great about it: organization and thoroughness
What's not so great: cannot think of how I would change the program.

Great but States could be improved

I've used TT for several years now and like the software. My only suggestion for improvement would be in the handling of State returns where I am required to look up information that the program should already have access to from the previous year. If this were automated then the State return would be even faster than it is now.

Disappointing Compared to Previous Years

I resent having to spend extra money to purchase the Premier version when in previous years I've been able to use the Deluxe version and it took care of investment income.
I also didn't like that I couldn't print the return prior to e-filing. If I remember past years, I was able to do so. Since I'm certifying that I have reviewed the return when I attach the e-signature, I should actually be able to do so.
It didn't seem to operate as smoothly as I remember in past years.
On the positive side, I do appreciate being able to import investment data, and that seemed to work more smoothly than in prior years.
