Pros and Cons

TurboTax is generally a good product. Having said that, I did not like the fact that I had to move to the Premier product to do my normal taxes.
The preparation of the Alabama State Return could also use the significant work since it has not improved in many years. It does not support the use of multiple year Loss Carry Forward with multiple NL-85A forms. Not only does it not allow the forms to be created but it also does not track these losses in any carry-forward worksheet for use in the future.
What's great about it: Good Federal Return preparation
What's not so great: Not so good Alabama Return preparation
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: As it was; representative, William, tried his best to help.
What's not so great: More bugs and inconvenient than used to be; it needs work for improvement

I use Turbo Tax to file my takes. I print out form. Do not submit it online because every day there is a hacker hacking peoples data, so I do it old fashioned way, print it and mail it.
I would give it 5 star rating if it has local city tax forms also. Turbo tax does the forms and do not even bother to inform you that you that it has NOT done your local city tax form. If you are not aware of this fact, you will end up with a notice that you have not filed your local city taxes :(
What's great about it: Computer guides, forms updated, easy to return
What's not so great: Unable to do Local Mason City, OH tax forms.

I only get a small amount in dividends, and I find it annoying to have to pay for the Premier edition when the Deluxe was good enough in previous years.
What's great about it: straight forward and easy to submit

2014 EZ

The product is OK for the easy (EZ) return. But, when one gets into the long form 1040 with itemized deductions and numerous schedules, you had better have some tax experience and knowledge or some of the modules will be very difficult.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use for a tax novice, non-accountant, non-CPA
What's not so great: Learn more boxes need a little more elaboration

Another Painless Tax Return Completed

I really like the fact that I don't have to worry about making stupid math errors or misinterpreting the tax rules. I also like the fact the it's all paperless. I wouldn't file my tax returns any other way.
What's great about it: Everything! Turbo Tax makes it so easy. Thanks!

Make tax time less taxing on my spouse

My husband never liked thinking about any of this stuff and he hated sitting down and filling in the forms although he knew he needed to do it because I tend to make dumb math errors. We started using Turbo Tax many years ago when he became self employed. It not only made filing less painful but it also helped to show him what kinds of expenses he needed to keep track of in the following years. Our taxes aren't as complicated any more but it's definitely worth the price to be able to just fill in the blanks and be done with taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to fill in the blanks
What's not so great: none to think of
