Turboing Again

It's been more than 10 years using Turbo Tax software. Through the years the software was able to address the buying and selling of property. I've had rental income and sale of stocks. In every case I've been able to do my own taxes accurately using Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Just the simplicity and intuitiveness of Turbo Tax
What's not so great: Non that I can really think of.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used TT for many years. I love the continuity from year to year and the attention to improvements. I have confidence in the procedure.
What's great about it: reasonable cost, imports, easy editing

I'm a longtime user of Turbo Tax and have every confidence in their product.
What's great about it: Easy to use and I can count on them to be right on top of forms updates and get them to me quickly

Great time saver

I have used Turbotax for over 20 years now and never had any audits. I t has come a long way to make it very user friendly as it is today. It gets better every year and covers all the necessary tax law changes as they apply to the tax filing years. It is very easy to check what you wrote and correct instantaneously, if needed. IT IS JUST A FANTASTIC SOFTWARE TO USE. IT HAS BEEN VERY USEFUL TO ME AND MY FAMILY MEMBERS.
What's great about it: Very easy interaction with software and very accurate, saves lots of time.
What's not so great: None

Better than Doing Returns by Hand, but BE CAREFUL!

I've used Turbo Tax for a number of years, both for individual returns and partnership returns. The partnership product leaves a lot to be desired. This review is about Turbo Tax Premier 2012, for individual tax returns.
Like many of the prior year products, TurboTax Premier 2012 is easy to use and covers a lot of material. Automatic calculations relieve the burden of reading instructions and manually doing worksheets. The "Easy Step" walkthrough covers a wide range of possibilities, but it's also possible to go directly to a specific area if you need to add or change something. The option to look at Forms helps to see how the return looks as a whole and identify any errors not picked up by the error checking feature.
One major downside (for me), is that the software does not automatically calculate net operating loss carryforwards for individuals. I've had to do that manually for the past five years. It's not a difficult task, but it does require going through the forms and instructions to make sure you get it right. And if you have become complacent and expect Turbo Tax to do everything for you, it's an unpleasant surprise to find that something was overlooked. Therefore, BE CAREFUL. Make sure you review the form carefully to ensure that everything you expect to be on it is there, and calculated correctly.

In prior versions it was possible to print directly to pdf to save, separately, your Federal Return, Federal Return with worksheets, State return, and State return with worksheets -- all as separate pdf files or as one pdf file.
