I have used TurboTax for a few years now and have always found it easy to use, at least easier to use than the IRS forms and instructions. This year I sold a bunch of options just after I retired and both the broker and my former employer reported the short term gain as income. I adjusted the basis costs as much as possible, but I am not sure what I did was right. The software seemed clueless that the possibility even existed. In this day of incentive stock grants and options the software should be able to handle just such a situation. Otherwise I found the use of the program intuitive, easy to use, and convenient.
What's great about it: Easy download from brokers and easy, guided data entry.
What's not so great: Double reported income from broker and employer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have used turbo tax for many years and each year it gets easier to use. The ability to transfer data from prior years and download some transactions make preparing the tax return much easier
What's great about it: retains information from prior years
What's not so great: some down loads dont work
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax rocks

2014 Income Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and was very satisfied through all the years. This year all the necessary forms were not in the Deluxe edition, however I was able to upgrade to premier with no charge. Hopefully the upgrade to Premier will not be necessary if all the necessary forms can be included in the deluxe edition.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Was a glitch in the saving of the files each time I stopped.
