Dawg Gone Easy to Use!

What's not so great: Can't opt to get refund paid in dog treats.

Extra Help Needed This Year

I have used Turbo Tax software for over a decade, and I have recommended it to several friends who continue to use it.
What's great about it: Automatically upgraded the edition of Turbo Tax I needed.
What's not so great: Just having to do taxes is a con!

I had more problems this year than the last 11 years combined. Support was all but missing.
I'll consider another product next year.

1. While turbo tax handles defined contribution pension plans (403b, 457, IRA, etc) clearly, it is not clear how defined benefit plans should be dealt with. RMDs don't apply.
2. I do not recall that turbo tax charged a fee for state e-filing in the past. Came as a surprise, so had to back out and file by mail.
What's great about it: good step by step method
What's not so great: not clear how defined benefit pension should be handled

Turbotax Continues to be Excellent

I am very glad to have TurboTax as a resource to navigate through the complexities of the tax code. This is especially welcome as my circumstances have changed in recent years.
What's great about it: Help at whatever level is needed; timely updates; few errors
