Easy Peasy

Overall, pretty easy and fast.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything, lets you see your refund as you go...
What's not so great: Sometimes it is a little over detailed.

Turbo Tax is Really Great

I have used the "free" tax prep software and I have used H & R Block's tax prep software, but I continue to return to Turbo Tax. I have asked myself repeatedly "why I left to use other preparation software", and I have never been able to come up with a good answer. Your product has proved to be easy to use; easy to understand; and I find it trustworthy.
What's great about it: The way it guides and directs the user through the tax forms and keeps things simple and direct.
What's not so great: Can't really think of any "Cons" right now!

Deluxe Dissappointment

I worked through the categories and the final result seems correct. I will reserve my final opinion until the IRS accepts my filing.
What's great about it: Chooses the necessary forms but requires a copy of the 1040 directions to understand what to enter.
What's not so great: Confusing catagories on the forms lack a clear definition in the pop-ups to decide what applies.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Why the changes

Like the overall program - did not like the save and print function this year. always liked the saving and printing of all documents not just the ones mailed or that need to be mailed to the IRS. Also had to buy the Premier to get all the items I used to get in the deluxe version
What's great about it: easy to use - walks through all the steps
What's not so great: Printing and saving function different - can not get all the supporting documents like before

I made one huge mistake in putting the cost basis of our IRA's where the total value should have gone and it grossly affected
our refund by becoming tax due. I would think with ten years of history that Turbo Tax would have spotted this error. The rest was great as usual and our complex return was accepted within 31 minutes of transmittal. See you next year.

What's great about it: Asks a lot of questions to make sure all bases are covered.
What's not so great: Should give corrections for errors.

Turbo Tax Deluxe

Thanks for fixing the mess with my need for the capital gains and the free upgrade to the Premier edition. I have done my returns for many years with TURBO TAX DELUXE and I hope to continue for many more. I actually enjoy doing my taxes with your product. Next year I will try to read the back of the box more carefully to see my needs. I would appreciate some help with It'sDeductibe so I can get it to download to my return. Thanks for all the good years of TURBOTAXING.
What's great about it: Very efficient method of filing my taxes
What's not so great: I spent several hours on It'sDeductibe and it would not down load to my tax return.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
