couldn't E-file, asks for a code(if Any) that isn't there. So it kept
coming back as an error, so I could not E-file. Had to buy
the premium version for one line on one sheet. regarding the
1099B. I was expecting better since I have been a regular user.
What's great about it: easy to follow along
What's not so great: glitch on form 1099b 1f/1g couldn't e-file
Pros: I bought or sold investments

In all the program was fun, made me realize I've been spending to much to long. Had my share of learning curves, but was able to figure them out!
What's great about it: Every hangup I had, once corrected ended in added monies.
What's not so great: First timer learning curves.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Still Good After All These Years

A number of years ago I had a running (shall we say) discussion with a TurbTax rep concerning the accuracy of the handling of the Form 502CR. Finally, you made a change to the software to make it possible to more easily complete the form and to make it possible to e-file the return. I'd really like to know why you had to go and change it again. The change has made it more difficult to complete the form and the instructions for completing it are basically non-existent. Is it because the State makes you present it like it is or is it because you don't have the expertise to program it? Overall I think you have a great product but why does this form have to be so ...................?
What's great about it: I've been doing taxes for many years and I find TurboTax still to be the easiest to use
What's not so great: Completing Maryland State return for Preservation Conservation Credit (Form 502CR)

I entered yes to a question and later found out it should have been no. It took a long time to figure out how to undo the error.
What's great about it: Guidance is pretty good
What's not so great: Had one major problem
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

1. File glitch: Populating the prior year tax information would not work--could not find the prior year file, was as if it never existed. Went back to backup copies from date it was filed, was not there either. Resulted in a great deal more work for capital loss carryovers, etc.
2. Entering student education expenses. Had to go to the form finally and insert non-tuition expenses (room/board, etc), as was consistently saying I got a 529 Plan withdrawal that was taxable as the withdrawal was more than the qualified expenses. Was because it never gave me a place during the step by step process to enter anything but 1098QT amount billed for qualified tuition.
What's great about it: very good step by step walkthrough
What's not so great: two issues, one a file glitch, the other a tax form problem
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

I had an issue when looking at the forms I could not find the numbers I input. I called up and they found the issue fairly quickly and walked me through things.
Good support
What's great about it: Phone in help worked well
What's not so great: Some deductions were bundled together and hard to match numbers
