Understand the complexity of keeping all Federal and State tax regulations up-to-date; but not impressed with the accuracy of Municipality calculations. Based on data entered, the municipality form 37 was in error, and required online research and correction. When attempting to make corrections on the form 37 provided by turbo tax, was not allowed to make necessary corrective entries and had to exit turbo tax and complete form 37 by other means. Failed to meet expectations.
What's great about it: Federal and state returns straightforward
What's not so great: Municipality form calculations in error and incomplete

Pros & Cons of Years of Turbotax

For the 9th year we turn to Turbotax to get the most refund for our money.
The program is in an easy to understand format. It's flexible in the that you can stop and continue at a later time if needed. As a returning customer, I love that it imports your previous years return information and compares it with the present year.
What's great about it: Easy to use - plain speak
What's not so great: Installation can be long & updates frequent
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used this product for many years and have had no problems with it. Would highly recommend it.
What's great about it: easy to follow instructions, very clear cut
What's not so great: I don't really like having to click at the bottom of every section once it is done

MAY NOT USE ANYMORE, GO TO PRODUCT WITH LOWER COST.
What's great about it: IMPORT IS GOOD
What's not so great: PRICE WAS JACKED UP FROM LAST YEAR

I have moderatly complicated taxes (K1, capital gains, multiple charities. I can;t say this was any easier than the paper IRS way. Entering a K1 was hard, once I committed to sending in multiple trades by mail I couldn't change it, one non cash charity didn't show up (like it thought "how could you have TWO of those?" I bought this mainly to see how close I was to AMT, but all it did was say "no, you don't owe any" I would like the worksheet details.
On the plus side it did a lot of those awkward work sheets like SS and showed me a credit I did''t expect.
What's great about it: does all the awkward calcs on SS, capitol gains, AMT, and so forth
What's not so great: Easy to enter stuff twice, occasionally missed things like multiple non cash charitables.

Keep Turbo Tax the way it was!

While I had no problems, it was disturbing that Turbo Tax removed key schedules this year and made them only available in a more expensive version. They backed down after a lot of complaints. I hope they return all these forms again in 2015 or I will have to consider another product. My return is not that unusual and I shouldn't have to buy a home business version when I don't have a home business.
What's great about it: Works well, especially when using every year
What's not so great: Elimination of key forms was a bad decision

Price is Ridiculous

Keep up the great work on keeping taxes simple. Lets work on dropping the price to a reasonable price so I can continue using your product in the future. Also, if you say that you will receive $25 back at the end of your return, it would be nice if you actually did do that.
What's great about it: Another great product that did a great job keeping me organized through filing my taxes. Makes taxes simple!
What's not so great: The price of your product this year was terrrible! Then I got an email to allow me $25 back on my return and never got.
