critique of 2015 product

Since payer ID numbers are entered for the federal return with the proper programing they could be transferred to the state. If those ae to be required again (as now) at least show the amount as one cannot match the payee name and ID with the entries in case of multiple entries. Also, one should be able to print a copy earlier in case of E-filing. I get nervous that the filing is going to happen before the printed review which I deem essential.
What's great about it: Federal return was easy.
What's not so great: State return a mess.

Great software, but be sure you understand up-front that DeLuxe is no longer good enough if you own rental property.
What's great about it: methodology for deductions
What's not so great: none

Went very smooth until final printing. Tried to print but launched my Dell instead of going to printer. Wound up printing from saved pdf. Strange, but easily resolved.
What's great about it: Having used for years, it's pretty easy,

Just as Easy as I Remember

This is the 13th year I have used Turbo Tax & I really liked doing it. All has been great except for 2007 & that was corrected for me. This is much easier than taking the papers I have collected all year & expecting someone to do it for me. God help my husband if I die, but our only child is an accountant !!!
What's great about it: Like that every section is covered well
What's not so great: Wish it were more like doing a paper return
Pros: I bought or sold investments

State Estimated Income Tax Entry Location
on March 3, 2015

I am retired. I receive retirement income from another state (CA) but live in OR. I thus have to do a quarterly est state income tax for the state of Oregon. It is not CLEAR as to where one enters their state est income tax. It certainly does not show up in the OR section. I lucked out and found out that it has to be entered at the Fed level for est Fed Income taxes. There is not clear info that states that this is the place where one also enters your state est income taxes also. I had the same problem with 2013 tax returns. Please FIX THIS for 2015 returns. MAKE IT MORE CLEAR AS TO WHERE STATE ESTIMATED INCOME TAXES ARE TO BE ENTERED. Thanks
What's not so great: See in review

Could be better

This is my 5th year using Turbo Tax. The first four were online but this year I used a CD. The CD did not grab the previous years info from my Turbo Tax account so I don't have the five year history page to look at and compare...that would have been very useful. Also, by not connecting to my Turbo Tax account online I had to start from scratch entering basic information.
I'm an educated person but I'm not a CPA. Some of the wording involving investment info was beyond my pay grade...make it simple!
Deducting interest for an RV...make it easy to find!
What's great about it: Cost versus tax preparer
What's not so great: Some wording was not clear

on March 3, 2015

This is the one thing I dread doing every year but somehow it was made easy with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions.
What's not so great: Getting all my paperwork in order and making sure I had it all.

frustration

The automatic jump start of a state tax return is great. However, it added a state because my son used the my cd to file his taxes including another state. To remove the extra state was nearly impossible and required not only my calling your help line but my issue going to a level 2 help as the person could not figure it out either. Not a good thing. He was very helpful, however, and stayed with me until a higher level tech could guide.
What's great about it: guided me well
What's not so great: process to remove an extra state automatically added to my because my son used my email address/turbo tax CD a problem.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
