User friendly...What does not work!

The Calculator tool did not let me multiply to insert answer in 'average miles for commute' on unreimbursed business miles###standard Excel would be =+290*40. What software over 40 years old has a calculator that can't multiply/divide/add/subtract???????????????????
Step by step "back" key does not allow you to correct prior answers when you know they were wrong? Does not take you back to each page you want to correct! You have to wait until error check and then go back to correct 10 more entries on the form#s# that your first answer generated incorrectly? My grandson, 12 years old, would not be able to follow the current logic! He would if "back" worked properly! He does more on the PC than I could ever do!
What's great about it: Double check all error & review
What's not so great: Tools, calculator does NOT WORK...can't multiply & fill. Step by step Education..."back to correct".
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbotax is a great software for completing taxes. I could not do my taxes without the software.

I've been using Turbo Tax since 1988 and wouldn't do my taxes without it. I just wish Intuit had originally included the investment forms in TurboTax Deluxe so I would not have to apply to them for a refund.
What were they thinking?
What's great about it: Easy to use, accurate
What's not so great: State form (at least my state) could guide you better

Double Check
on March 2, 2015

I found that sometimes I entered the same thing twice. This mainly happens when I imported info & then I also received an IRS reporting form from the same place in the mail. Would be nice to have software that would advise you of a possible double entry.
Need more help in entering foreign stock tax info.
Found stocks that are REIT's, ETF's or similar non standard stocks very difficult to deal with.
What's great about it: I like having last years return factored in.
What's not so great: foreign stocks/reits not explained enough or entered for you

I've used TurboTax for many years. It is wonderful. Easy to submit electronically, good support, and convenient way to access past tax returns if needed. I highly recommend it and my kids are now using it as they begin to file their own returns.
What's great about it: Easy to use, learn as you go what is important, easy to file
Pros: I bought or sold investments

i had difficulty this year with two items:
- it was unclear if financial gifts to universities count as a charitable donation
- i had problems appropriately logging in costs associated with rental property as it kept getting divided up by rental and personal usage when the costs were 100% related to the rental maintenance.
