Excellent as usual

I have securities gains and losses and several charity donations which TurboTax does very well. Getting last years figures is a great help so I can check year to year expenses and gains. Rate TurboTax and overall excellent this year.
What's great about it: Last years entries provided & ability to go line by line or skip around to needed forms
What's not so great: Could be easier to estimate next year taxes

I paid for software and expected to be able e-file both tax return charge-free.
But i could not find an option to e-file my state without paying extra.
So I had to save it a s a file, go to the library to print out then send via regular mail.
If I am mistaken and there is an option to e-file state for free, then it is not obvious and easy as the rest of the steps.

What's great about it: very intuitive, easy to use

Quality Assurance could have been better

Wisconsin Department of Revenue did not detect business quarterly payments on Federal return in order to force steps to include the state quarterly payments. After sending the initial/original state tax forms to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, the department sent an invoice for the tax due for the missing state quarterly payments.
Note that I will be waiting for the reconciliation by the state of the amended forms with the state tax due for the missing quarterly payments.
Why would an absolutely unique nickname be required above? Just an example of some fine tuning that was neglected in this version of Turbo Tax. Having to guess at a nickname that hasn't been used tends to be unreasonable!!
What's great about it: New step-by-step procedures improved
What's not so great: Missing state quarterly payments procedure
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Premier Works

Would be nice if the tool provided more help on RSUs/ESPP.
Frequently brokers will break a single trade into multiple lots even if they are from a single award. This means the user has to calculate the number of shares given/witheld using a percentage of the shares sold compared to the total number of shares. It just creates a place where the user can make a mistake and the tool should do it for the user.
What's great about it: Did 95% Really Well.
What's not so great: Entering RSUs and ESPP still painful.

It was just a straight forward this year as last. I enjoy doing my own taxes and it gives me great pleasure to know I can trust my tax person. ME
What's great about it: It is so much easier to do my own taxes at home as apposed to going outside the home

Dissatisfied with changes made in forms

I am very displeased with the removal of the Sch-E form from the product I use, forcing me to upgrade needlessly. I am a long time customer and I will seek another product if the forms are not replaced, as they were, for next years product.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: You removed the Schedule E from Deluxe product

Made it easy

I have always like using TurboTax in the past. Having to upgrade to premier this year was a surprise. For me it is not worth the extra to have premier. I will do some shopping before next year.
What's great about it: Carryforward info and ease of entering data
What's not so great: Having to upgrade to premier for the first time in many, many years.
