Similar to previous years, but easier to use. Still have to gather all the needed info and documentation, but preparing the return is straight forward.
What's great about it: Easy to Follow and Enter Correct Info
What's not so great: Charges to file state return
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This is the fifth year in a row we have used Turbo Tax (a few years ago we used MacinTax, but had to use a CPA because of ambiguous rules on deductions) we re quite happy with the thoroughmes and accuracy of Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Mistake free
What's not so great: a few clumsy instructions

From install to completion TurboTax has always pulled me through, and this year wasn't any different. After about an hour or so I had things all wrapped up and put to bed.
I'm in for next year..
What's great about it: Simplicity of the user interface, you don't have to have a PHD to figure this one out
What's not so great: Didn't find any..

Need TT Premier to do what Deluxe did last year!
on March 1, 2015
Posted by: AlanIceB
I've been a regular user of TT since 1994 and rely on the data transferring over to start each subsequent year's taxes. This year I needed to access information from the early years' returns and discovered that TT won't open prior-year files, and the software CD is too old to load on my PC (creates errors on loading under Windows Vista). Lesson learned: save to .pdf each year. However, it seems like TT should include some kind of "viewer" to be able to open/print/save to .pdf prior year returns.
Also a bit disappointed that buying/selling of mutual funds now requires TT Premier. I did my 2013 taxes with Deluxe and expected that to include handling of 1099Bs in 2014...they did give a free upgrade to TT Premier for 2014, but I think they should leave that in Deluxe for 2015.
Overall, very satisfied with TT and will continue to prepare my taxes myself with TT in the future (even if I have to pay more for Premier).
What's great about it: Free upgrade for 2014 taxes to Premier
What's not so great: Will need to purchase Premier next year to get same benefit as Deluxe in 2013. Will not print prior year TT files.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy to use, except . . .

Used TT for many years and find it worth the money unless you get stuck. The search engine is almost worthless with results seemingly unrelated to the question asked. When you link from a form to the help, it would be nice if the results were already narrowed down. Also, when importing complex statements like 1099-B, much data is missing, TT needs additional info to continue, but again, useful help is missing.
What's great about it: Thorough, accurate
What's not so great: Great unless you need help
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Very good overall, but flawed
on March 1, 2015

On Schedule D, the description of the securities continues to be very flawed. There is no reason to carry shares to 3 decimal places (1/1000 of a share). Much of the text description of the securities is either very small (federal) or missing (PA return). The font issue needs to be fixed.
What's great about it: I save money preparing it myself
What's not so great: At least on the MAC version, the fonts are terrible
