Part-Year Allocations

Screens appeared for me to enter the portion for a state, with no explanation. The screen that posed the greatest confusion (and hours to figure out) was the Part-Year Allocation: "Enter the portion of the following items that you paid while a Virginia resident."
Then, "Fixed date conformity subtraction, with a federal total and a space to enter Virginia.
I HAD NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANT! EXCEPT, TO PRO-RATE. I had no idea what expenses/etc that made up the total.
Would have been VERY HELPFUL for TurboTax to have listed each item making up the total and asked to enter an for each line item.
This was terrible.
What's great about it: Allowed me to pro-rate.
What's not so great: No real help offered
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Best return EVER!!

Have been using TT for many years now so getting more comfortable with using this and getting increased knowledge about taxes, eligible deductions and ways to improve our return. TT helps make that learning happen while getting things done
What's great about it: Ability to totally guided thru all things

Overall, as good as ever. Bad idea to require upgrade to Premier for Capital gains transactions.
What's great about it: Ease of Use; Built-in advice
What's not so great: Required to buy Premir this year; No way to modify Estimated Tax calculations/payments

Disappointed new requirement to purchase Premium!!

Quick and easy.
Lack of Loss Carryover snafu was disappointing.
Error Checks are great and quick. I have enjoyed using the program since at least 1997 except for this years Loss Carryover black mark.

What's not so great: Deluxe didn't have loss carryover forms as it did for many years.

Very Easy to Use

Turbo tax is very easy to use and complete. All of the tax forms I had were asked about during the Interview process. I have used Turbo Tax for many years and plan to keep on using it in the future!
What's great about it: Walked me through everything
What's not so great: Had to upgrade for Mutual Funds
