Turbo Tax Deluxe

Look & feel is the same as previous years. Nice to have that familiar feeling from one year to the next. Did not like finding out the Deluxe version was changed this year. Glad they let us download the missing forms for free. Hopefully next year the Deluxe version will be the same as it has been in the past!! Would have given it 5 stars if the Deluxe version wasn't changed.
What's great about it: Format same from year to year
What's not so great: Took away some forms that were normally in the Deluxe version
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy process

TurboTax makes an unpleasant chore pretty easy to do. The guided step-by-step process asks all the necessary questions, fills in the forms where needed, and does all the calculations.
I noticed in some places I had to select "edit" to enter information, and in others there was a "yes" or "no" box that needed to be clicked. If "yes" was selected it would then take you to a page to enter information.
Otherwise, well worth the money.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Some inconsistency in selection choices
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have been using the product for >15 years. But this year tested patience, still I went ahead and upgraded and had my usual experience. Wish that unneeded forms would not be added based on previous returns.
What's great about it: Familiar and Predictable
What's not so great: Pricing snafu and unnecessary forms

I have to say that for at least ten years, again, for at least ten years that I have been using Turbo Tax, every year I think that I will try something different. But , when tax time rolls around, I cant help myself, because I do think that this product is quite good and I'm afraid that another similar product just will not attain the quality, expertise, reliability, updates and confidence that Turbo-Tax has given me. Some day I may experiment and try another but in no way can I predict the future at this time. Rock on TT.
What's great about it: Excelent program and fairly easy to follow.
What's not so great: losses on investments could be easier to navigate.

2014 Premium TurboTax

Have been using TurboTax since the '90s. Still works good but the supporting commentary has been greatly reduced in spots over the years. I have problem in that the display can not be zoomed for a better viewing experience. My eyesight has diminished over time and this basic function should be included. If you have foreign tax due to buying ADRs or holding mutual funds with stocks requiring foreign tax payments be prepared for grief. Some workarounds can be found in others comments but it reflects poorly on Intuit that they have never fixed this problem so it is up to the standards used in their other information input. A number of areas lack definitions for terms used and choices presented are not clarified so you know what to do so you are left to experiment on results. You can work it out but why are you forced to do so. I have not used competing programs in recent years but overall I believe the independent ratings that say TurboTax is one of the better programs around so I keep using it but my enthusiasm has been waning,
What's great about it: Imports from previous year. Easy data entry if you have info ready. Has some explanations of what you are dealing with
What's not so great: Can not zoom forms for better reading experience. Handling of foreign tax.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Entirely serviceable

If you have a very small home business and want to file a schedule C, you have to pay a lot more this year. Is it worth it? Not entirely sure. With updates, this year it is easier to follow the directions and receive guidance and links. Bottom line, it is still better than other guides out there or waiting on line for others to follow similar software on your behalf (and you end up paying the same amount.
What's great about it: With improvements much easier and intuitive to use
What's not so great: Costs more with different levels of needs

Turbox Tax personal review

I encrypted my account with a password as suggested. Had no problem logging in until suddenly was asked to enter 6 digit number that was sent to my email. Problem was that the email address was 7 years old and inaccessible. Took me many, many steps to request an email change in order for me to finally get the code. I don't understand why that extra step happened all of a sudden. Added 4 extra days to my filing but it finally worked out.
What's great about it: System makes entering information fairly easy. Transferring info directly from financial institution is great.
What's not so great: Difficulty signing in to my account
Pros: I bought or sold investments
