Some Hiccups but got the job done

I have used TurboTax for many years and have had great luck with it. This is first year I had a problem with not being able to send e-file (communication issues). I tried several of the fixes from the help selection but they did not work. I eventually had to transfer the files and reload the program to another pc to send. I would recommend everyone backing up their tax files to a usb drive or another drive device and put in a safe place.
What's great about it: Easy to use and straight forward
What's not so great: Some fixes to problems in help do not work

A very good package.
What's great about it: Basically easy to use. liked your 'helps', walking your way through something.
What's not so great: Hard to go directly to something you want to see again or change.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Ease of entering most information and capability to import informtion from banks and investment firms. Makes tax preparation simple for someone without any accounting or finance background.
What's great about it: Ease of entering information
What's not so great: Need more explanation of Foreign Tax section on Foreign taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I wasted a lot of time trying to find out even simple things like self employment health expense. I would have saved time using pen and paper. It took a lot of time to find out that I have to upgrade and spend more money for a basic line item. I will not buy Turbotax next year. Good Bye.
What's not so great: Try to clooect extra bucks
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Few areas were a little confusing but were clarified by the help windows.

I've used TT for many years - this year I did one return on TT and the other on Tax Cut - I found the questions easier to answer using Tax Cut
What's great about it: walks through forms - has backup help
What's not so great: some questions are muddy

I feel the same confidence level, if not more, that my taxes will be done accurately with Turbo Tax as with a "tax professional". I have had tax professionals do my taxes in some prior years and even though I gave the pros all required info and documents in early February, they did not get around to my taxes until after the deadline. I then had to file for an extension. I like being able to walk through all items with Turbotax and the fact that I can search for answers to unique questions i have. With all this, the icing on the cake is the price. Great value for the service provided. I trust Turbo Tax to get it right.
What's great about it: Accurate, safe, quick and convenient.

Very concise performance

Figuring out how to get a stock sale into the right category wasn't very straightforward. After entering the purchase date and cost basis, Turbo Tax did not recognize the sale as a long-term transaction. It took me some messing around to figure out how to get the sale into the right "box" (E, as it turns out).
What's great about it: Importing of 1099, etc
What's not so great: stock sales category not the most direct
Pros: I bought or sold investments
