turbo tax USED to help me figure out the right number of deductions to claim on my w-4 for the following year....whatever happened to that??? that's really helpful.
also - i know longer see the comparison to national averages. that was a good feature.
What's great about it: consistent, usable product
What's not so great: likely need to improve instructions around options, straddles, etc.

Excellent tax software!

This is excellent tax software. It is is extremely easy to use.The software does an excellent job translating the very complicated federal and state form instructions into plain english directions so that one feels confident and comfortable working with all the documents. The "explain this" and "help me decide" features are excellent as well. Highly reccommended.
What's great about it: Easy to use, translates the instructions on each form so that the instructions are clear and readily understandable.

Easy Peazy!!

If you have straight forward income and expenses, Turbo Tax is for you. Especially with downloading from external sources. I am retired now and wish I had this kind of ease way back when I was working all those hours and had little time to do taxes.
What's great about it: Short, sweet & to the point questions, with easy to understand answers in the pull-down screens.
What's not so great: If it's too easy, laziness sets in (for me).

1099-B

Entry of 1099-B was not intuitively obvious. Even after solving the entry issues, TurboTax did not recognize the entries correctly till exiting and restarting.

2014 returns

I have enjoyed using Turbo Tax...concerned about the change from last year's deluxe which required me to upgrade to Premier this year. Wonder what will happen next year...
What's great about it: simple and thorough
What's not so great: needed to upgrade to Premier this year , though free

Amazingly Perfect

Best software out for taxes. Love it. Wish CA didn't charge to efile.
What's great about it: With the support of help and the concise way it goes through questioning; you cant lose.
What's not so great: didn't find any; except I wish you didn't need to pay for State efile.

Easy to use, as usual

I have used TurboTax for several years, and find it meets my needs very well. I particularly like that it correlates readily with last year's return and downloads data from my financial advisor.
What's great about it: Simple, (mostly) clear instructions. Carryover of data from one year to the next.
What's not so great: Lack of help on one screen (Are you a PSO?)
