TuboTax premier gets more cumbersome and difficult to use each year. and Especially over the last two or 3. It used to remember annual repeated income sources and even list the previous year's amounts, but no more. And doesn't remember carry-overs.
All in all, I guess it's the best/only one around, but I doubt whether I would even be able to use it next year since it may no longer work with Windows XP. Which was my experience a few years ago forcing me to buy a new desktop.
What's not so great: Unneccessarily cumbersome. I was unable to delete an erroneous entry except to delete the entire K-1 & reenter
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax software is easier to use than say "H & R Block," With the price gouging Turbo Tax has done for the 2014 Turbo Tax, I have already purchased a copy of the "H & R Block" software to compare against Turbo Tax. I will compare easy of use, final costs to file, and accuracy.
What's great about it: General, easy to use compare to other tax softwear prograns
What's not so great: Being forced to use the Premier package instead of the Deluxe

i loved Turrbo tax. then this year; new program upgrade required, some forms not included, convoluted way to try to get Capital; gains correct, ridiculous charges to e file not disclosed until actual filing, ridiculous charges for state returns, E file to be @ days later.............huh???? Then at every screen.........buy this, buy that,,,,,,,,,,sign up for this and that. This inst Nascar.
What's great about it: looking for one
What's not so great: new fees for this and that. No immediate e filing. Sell me something at every screen.

on October 14, 2015

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years, This year I have been frustrated with trying to E File, an error in your form 8949 Line 1 (f) & (g) It clearly states ( IF ANY ) In this case NO CODE IS REQUIRED AT THE ADVICE OF MY ACCOUNT....... I have not been able to E File because I get stuck in a LOOP that I can not get out of.

good but if you have multiple k-1s or more..

For most general tax situations, it works very well. But it's when you get into multiple k-1s and other investment situations, this product just "throws its hands in the air" and says to enter the information in other places...but it doesn't even hint at where you should look to enter it. Knowing these limitations, I still use it but it's getting to the point where it would be better to pay someone instead of having software that only goes so far.... not beyond the main basics.
What's great about it: easy to use and prepare most tax documents
What's not so great: Doesn't handle k-1s very and sometimes requires manual entries

Balky edits weaken program
on October 15, 2015

I made a few mistakes, some (many) of which were a result of the program failing to allow a form to be completely edited. (It called for completion of fields in deleted entries). Also, some fields (specifically related to exchange health coverage purchases) did not fully require or explain the need to enter column two information and then would not respond to cut and paste or field fill during the review/edit process. All-in-all the interview and edit process was weaker than in years past and I have used TTax for about as long as it has existed.

What's great about it: I liked most of what it does
What's not so great: Reivew did not REALLY allow edit completion
Pros: I bought or sold investments

STOP SELLING SERVICES - ANNOYED
on October 15, 2015

I have been using this software for over 10 years. First few years I bought it directly but then found that at big box stores, I can get them same thing for $10-20 cheaper. So why should I buy from you? Also your service selling feature gets annoying and have a opt out check box.
What's great about it: all foms available
What's not so great: too many sales approaches
