Over all, the process was easy. I picked an electronic download for some info. Nice feature. I elected to type in much of the info and even though this takes longer was my preferred method. I was glad to have the choice. Hopefully next year the Turbo Tax Delux will be in tact with no surprises. Electronic filing is perfect and I have enjoyed over the years using this tax software. Much faster than mail and you are kept advised of tax filing status.
What's great about it: Fairly simple and very thorough. Pick your own method to complete
What's not so great: Some items difficult to find where to enter. Estimated taxes for one.

Disappointing

I was not happy having to change from Deluxe to Premier because it seemed different.
On two occasions, the program did not save my input and I had to reenter the data.
Honestly, for the price paid for the software, I think the state tax should be e-filed for free.
Next year I will check with friends on H & R Block.
By the way this was my fourth year using Turbo Tax
What's great about it: Usually a good program
What's not so great: No free state e-filing; Did not keep data entered upon exiting.

Turbotax makes it easy

Using the step by step approach makes it easy and prompts you so you don't overlook anything.If you prepare and summarize your expenditures ahead of time, then it becomes just a matter of filling in the blanks. With this approach, I find that you can complete your input easily in less than two hours. Love using turbotax.
What's great about it: Very comprehensive.
What's not so great: A little confusing on "pin"

Fell a Little Short

Had to rely on the very lengthy "help file" to finally get to the screens needed to take the deductions for an investment home sale. I will use again next year since I won't have this situation.
What's great about it: Looks for many possible deductions
What's not so great: Did not handle the process of claiming an investment home sale.

don't forget your IRA basis at RMD time

turbo tax did not clearly explain how the numbers from the healthcare tax credit was determined and the cost spent on healthcare insurance was or was not included in itemized deductions
What's great about it: seemed simpler than last year
What's not so great: healthcare expense reporting not clear
