I depend on TurboTax for my Federal and State return. I have never been disappointed by it.
What's great about it: Simplifies filing by walking you through the steps in a logical manner
What's not so great: Was disconcerted that Sched D wasn't originally included in the Deluxe version. Turbotax later added it for me

I had taken an early withdrawal of part of my Roth IRA but was not subject to any tax because of using it for higher education. However the only thing TurboTax asked was if I used it as a first time home buyer and something else I don't remember. I had to do a bunch of research to determine the right form to go to so that I could document why I was not subject to taxes. I could have been presented a checklist with more scenarios, and checked the proper box instead.
What's great about it: Its Deductible
What's not so great: Confusing instructions for early withdrawal of Roth
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

The GREAT SNAFU of Turbo Tax for 2014 was the way customers were deceived with the Deluxe version and then found out about the GREAT SHORTCHANGE of no investment forms or rental property forms unless you upgrade to the Premier version................more costs.
Eventually, General Manager Sasan Goodarzi launched a resolution and it worked for me.

What's not so great: Unable to print certain screens.

I have been using Turbo Tax to do my taxes for over 10 years, and I think this year was the easiest. It went quite well except one area that I feel the instructions were unclear. On Form 5329 line 50 and 51, it wasn't clear whether that number should be for all IRA's for my husband & I, just for the total of my husband's SEP & IRA or just the IRA in question. I chose to use the total of all since it is a joint return. Also, for the explanatory statement, the form was difficult to edit and did not allow enough characters to adequately explain the situation. Also, it would be good if one could upload a document as part of the explanation to be e-filed along with the form.
What's great about it: Clear and easy to navigate
What's not so great: Statement length too limited

I've never been good in math, taxes can be nerve racking and very stressful. Turbo Tax puts an end to those conditions and makes doing your taxes a breeze. Turbo Tax is " easy for anyone to use".
What's great about it: Very detailed, loved the "find" feature
