Wasn't as easy as expected

My computer crashed this past year and lost all my old returns. Starting all over wasn't fun or easy as expected. Could find and/or import a lot of lost information. Ended up having to do manually. Kept running into problems but turbo tax support was very helpful and guided me through trouble areas.
What's great about it: Was easy to get help when needed
What's not so great: Couldn't get old turbo tax rerurns

After having gone to a service to file my taxes and having them take my documents and basically plug the numbers into a computer and then charging me a % of my refund I decided I was capable of using TurboTax and plugging my own numbers in and get all the money back. It's been great so far. For my peace of mind, I do pay for the audit defense just in case I may have misunderstood something, but it's a small price to pay based on what I paid for someone else to do the same thing.
What's great about it: Easy, screen examples of documents, walkthrough or do it yourself
What's not so great: The change this year in deluxe affected me and I didn't think it would, thanks for the free upgrade
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Decent for refunds, user interface needs work

I'd recommend getting some more people to test out the interface before you deploy it to the customers. Some of the controls aren't exactly intuitive and there are several pages where I'd go back and delete information (so that it doesn't show up on the screen) just so that it would pop up later on during the return.
If something gets deleted, just delete it out of the system. It's really confusing to make a mistake, quickly delete some information, just to see it pop up somewhere else.

What's great about it: Very simple to use and understand

Very easy to use as long as you have all your information for filing and copy of your records for input.
What's great about it: Easy to use, very straight forward
What's not so great: working 1099r for railroad reirement

Turbotax 2014

Numerous times, more than 20, when I went to save my tax return, turbotax shut down. I have never had this problem in 15(?) years of using turbotax. It was very frustrating and I had to enter duplicate data numerous times.
What's great about it: Still a god tax software package
What's not so great: very dissapointed with the numerous times turbotax shut down

Should make a big effort to get everything right by the Feb 1st.
There is no reason except for the smallest of problems.
I really like the interface and how it is consistent over the years.

Frustrating

Part about selling and buying main and vacation residences was really confusing.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Had to pay extra for premier in order to submit capital gains and losses. Instructions hard to understand
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments
