Disappointed

This is the first year I was truly frustrated with your software. Though I am a CPA, I found myself having to do independent research of the IRS tax code to determine gain or loss on my rental that I sold. I purchased the premium edition because I thought it would guide me through everything, but it didn't. There were other similar annoying situations that required me to have to search for forms. Never thought I would say this, but I will consider using other software next year.
What's great about it: Still easier and cheaper than other methods
What's not so great: not as easy or as cheap than in prior years

I underestimated and paid the price in the end!

Overall, very helpful step-by-step instruction to explain and complete your state and federal taxes.
I do think the walkthrough pertaining to estimated taxes could be improved. Last year, I followed your estimated tax payment steps and ended up significantly underestimating my taxes resulting in a penalty this year. I think perhaps due to the varied nature of income with no withholding it's better to simply make an "offline" estimated tax payment of 30% to the IRS and make note in that tax year's TurboTax Federal tax filing.
Also, a glitch in TurboTax did not allow me to change categories of ESPP stock sales after my initial entry, so, I had to re-enter them all from scratch.
What's great about it: ESPP stock sales were easy to report
What's not so great: no explanation/walkthrough of federal late penalty; the estimated payment walkthrough was not easily understandable

Who needs an accountant?

I have used a tax preparation service in previous years because I owned rental property and wanted to make sure that it was done right. After getting too expensive, I decided to use turbo tax again. I am glad I did. The software was very thorough and gave me great confidence that my taxes were done right. The only criticism I have is that there were some questions that I had and I wanted the actual tax law to review. Would like some links or a library to reference in these cases. That is being extremely critical and I was still able to find what I was looking for on my own. I will definitely use turbo tax from now on.
What's great about it: Simple and quick
What's not so great: Did not provide detailed information when needed

I really liked how this software walked me through the tax reporting process mad it a no brainer. Wont be paying somebody to do my taxes again

Easy to do

My 5th or 6th year for using Turbo Tax and it seems that each year improves upon what was already a smooth and confident process. This year (2014 taxes) was the quickest and easiest yet.
What's great about it: Walks you thru each step and has the attached resources to answer any questions you may have.
What's not so great: They have this thing perfected so there is no where to go wrong.

Finally finished

Overall I was satisfied with Turbo tax. Had to really read what was contained in each version to determine which turbo tax to purchase. I also had trouble figuring out how to print my state tax return. Not sure why it would not print with the federal return even though the button says "print returns".
What's great about it: Prior year data and self populates the names, etc
What's not so great: Sometimes had to go to the forms view to make changes.

Dissapointed in the 2014 Turbo Tax

In prior years, we had a popup window for the "Computer Administrator" to enable update to the latest TurboTax. This year it was more difficult since I had to transfer files to the "Administrator" to allow progress.

What's not so great: Going back to correct is not easy.
