great way to file taxes

Overall a rewarding experience.
What's great about it: thorough coverage of income and deductions
What's not so great: lacks clarity in some instances (eg PINS)

Problems With MI Forms

Again, great experience with this product was marred by the inability to take the $40,000 pension fund deduction. No questions were asked in the MI section regarding the deduction so we nearly skated by it. Went to the help center and found many other people with the same problem which required a manual over ride on my part . Not cool. We depend on this product which normally is the Best of Breed in tax software.
What's great about it: Very well organized question format. Liked the updates and linked forms.
What's not so great: Nearly paid $1400 unnecessarily to State of MI due to inability to take pension deduction

When you have an error there should be more directions to where to fix it. Maybe even show that part of the form
What's great about it: Professional support from your Tax folks was great once you got to them
What's not so great: Your web help is useless. Never got an answer
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Have been using TurboTax for years. Happy with product. Not happy that I had to return the product I had been using for year and exchange it for a more expensive version

It has been so reliable for me over the years. The info is kept
inside the other filings, so it is easily pulled out to be used with the current year. so much easier.

Good Product

Works well and is well worth the money but every year something that should be very simple always seems to fall through the cracks. This year it is in the charitable deductions. It allows and actually suggests using "VARIOUS" when there are multiple donations to the same charity at multiple times. Then in the review it indicates that "VARIOUS" is not allowed and you must go back and put the date in for each donation. Various should not be allowed as a choice when in the deductions area.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: In deductions allowed for an entry that the audit did not allow

I paid a lot of out of pocket even though I had insurance and don't recall entering any of these numbers..:(
What's great about it: Like how it connects with last years info
What's not so great: It didn't explain Medial very well.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
